Olivia Rodrigo Stopped A Concert To Voice Her Support For Abortion Rights And Encourage Her Audience To Take Action

"Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians."

Olivia Rodrigo is the latest celeb to speak out in the wake of a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that shows the court's early vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Olivia stopped a concert last night to address the dire consequences of potentially overturning Roe and said she's "heartbroken" over the draft opinion.

Olivia happened to be performing in Washington, DC when she spoke out about it, telling her crowd, "Because we're in DC, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say how heartbroken I am over the Supreme Court's potential decision."

She encouraged her audience members to take action, saying, "I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right, to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get."

"Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians," she added, which is spot-on.

The draft opinion could change before the Supreme Court finalizes votes this summer. But if it stands, the decision would strike down both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, effectively leaving abortion laws up to the discretion of individual states. In a number of them, that could mean abortion access is limited or nonexistent.
