Vanessa Bryant Revealed Gianna Had Her School Basketball Jersey Retired In A Series Of Heartbreaking Instagram Posts

"I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would’ve been until my last breath."

Vanessa Bryant has shared a series of incredibly moving Instagram posts about her late husband and daughter, Kobe and Gianna.

Ten days ago, Kobe, 41, and Gianna, 13, died along with seven other people in a helicopter crash in Calabasas.

Vanessa, who'd been married to former basketball player Kobe for 20 years, broke her silence on the tragedy three days later, changing her profile picture to one of her husband and daughter before posting a family photo and caption in tribute.

"We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband ... and my beautiful, sweet Gianna ... There aren't enough words to describe our pain right now," she wrote in the caption.

And Vanessa has now shared further tributes to Kobe and Gianna on Instagram. She firstly posted this artwork of her daughter, who was following in her father's footsteps as a keen basketball player.

"Seeing my babygirl smile and happy again with a basketball 🏀 under her arm, wrapped in 💜💛love just warmed my heart," she wrote in the caption.

She followed this up with a photo of Kobe, alongside a caption describing him as her "best friend" and a "loving husband".

"Miss you so much," she continued. "Miss you saying, 'Bonjourno principessa/reina.'"

Vanessa then posted a series of photos and videos from a special jersey retirement ceremony held in tribute to Gianna at her school.

"My Gianna," Vanessa wrote in the caption of the first photo, "God I miss you. I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would’ve been until my last breath."

And, alongside a photo of Gianna's jersey and a video clip of the ceremony, Vanessa paid further tribute to her daughter writing: "You've taught us all that no act of kindness is ever too small. Mommy is still and will ALWAYS be so proud of you."
