Taylor Swift's Outfit On The Anniversary Of The Kim And Kanye Feud Is Actually Way More Extra Than You Thought

Whole new levels of extra.

On this day two years ago, the world was reeling after Kim Kardashian released part of the audio from a phonecall between Kanye West and Taylor Swift which led to one of the most dramatic celebrity fallouts in history.

Prior to releasing the audio, Kim tweeted this which many people took as a reference to Taylor who had been branded a "snake" after two separate feuds with Calvin Harris and Katy Perry.

Wait it's legit National Snake Day?!?!?They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days! 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍

The day was henceforth heralded as Snake Day, with Taylor even referencing the anniversary during her concert last night.

“happy national snake day my favorite day of the year” #repTourCleveland (my video please give credit if you take)

But as well as mentioning the anniversary during her show, Taylor also stepped out yesterday in a very interesting outfit to mark the occasion.

The first thing to note is the snakeskin backpack, because of course that's the level of extra we're at now.

But as well as the backpack, Taylor's outfit featured two nods to the "Look What You Made Me Do" video.

The first reference were her boots which looked very similar to the ones she wore in the scene where the ~old Taylors~ descend into a fight and get kicked in the face.

But the main thing I'd like to draw your attention to is the playsuit. Now, if you're thinking that the fabric looks familiar, then you'd be right.

It turns out that it's the exact same fabric used in the outfit that Taylor wore at the end of the video.

And the fact that the fabric matches the Taylor from the end of the video is very interesting indeed.

Back when that video was released, a lot was made of the fact that Taylor dressed up as previous versions of herself from different eras of her career. However, there was one version who didn't resemble a past figuration of herself – the one who spray painted and cut the wings off a plane before standing at the back and watching the lineup of old Taylors argue at the end of the video.

At the time, people speculated that this Taylor was the ~real~ Taylor – the one who isn't portrayed in the media, who is always in the background of her other personas.

Others saw it as a comment on how the media and public are obsessed with Taylor's public persona rather than the person she truly is.

So, her decision to save this outfit which, let's face it, she's likely had for an entire year, for an outing on the anniversary of Snake Day could symbolise that the ~real Taylor~ is now ready to step out and be herself after all the drama of the past few years.

And it didn't take long before people began noticing – and loving – the reference.

is it just me or do these patterns look really similar? and this was supposedly the real Taylor in lwymmd, which was a mockery of her getting called a snake AND today is national snake day?? https://t.co/GfcU1HZySZ

Taylor is wearing the same print as the one she wore in the “Look What You Made Me Do” video. She is also wearing a snake skin backpack, in honor of National Snake Day. #NationalSnakeDay 🐍 https://t.co/TQHy2pwk49

Taylor wore a print out in NYC today that is reminiscent to the one she wore as plane Taylor in the LWYMMD music video. She also has a snake backpack on in celebration of national snake day... 👀 https://t.co/jNXkyKeUWs

Excuse me while I scream about the fact that Taylor Swift is out in the open carrying a bag with a snakeskin print on the 2 year anniversary of the day Kimberly Kardashian called her a snake on social media and the internet sent her into hiding with #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty https://t.co/9qZvje7rbr

Touché, Tay.
