Kylie Jenner Is Officially The Youngest "Self-Made" Billionaire In History And People Have Thoughts

Kylie credited the achievement to "the power of social media."

Kylie Jenner has officially become the youngest "self-made" billionaire in history at the age of 21, reigniting the debate over to what extent her family fame has contributed to her success.

While Forbes revealed last year that Kylie was on track to become a billionaire, they've confirmed she has now crossed the threshold thanks to signing an exclusive distribution deal with the beauty retailer Ulta, which placed her Kylie Cosmetics products in 1000 stores across the US.

Kylie credits the historic achievement to "the power of social media," adding that while she never expected the accolade, it's a "nice pat on the back."

People's reactions to the news were varied. Some congratulated Kylie, and said they were proud of her.

Congratulations Kylie Kristen !!! You deserve it ALL!!! https://t.co/clJfphMIsC

Go Kylie, go Kylie, get mon-ayyyyy 🎶 Congrats @KylieJenner I’m so proud of you 💕💕💕💕

However, others have started debating again as to whether Kylie truly is "self-made."

stop calling kylie jenner a self-made billionaire. nothing about her is “self-made” https://t.co/Pi1sFsQI5Z

Kylie Jenner being called a “self made billionaire” fuck off, going on as if she wasn’t born with a fucking diamond spoon in her mouth

When you see @Forbes calling Kylie Jenner a "self-made" billionaire

Calling Kylie Jenner a self made billionaire is problematic, to say the least, particularly because Kris Jenner made all that money

In fact, just last month Kylie defended her "self-made" status, acknowledging that while her fame gave her a "huge platform," none of her money is inherited.
