    Disney and 21st Century Fox are closing in on a deal that could come as soon as next week, CNBC reported on Tuesday.

    Disney Near Closing Deal On Buying 21st Century Fox's TV Business

    According to a CNBC report , talks between Disney and Fox have progressed significantly enough where a deal could be announced as early as next week.

    The deal would give Disney full rights to the Rupert Murdoch-controlled media company's studio and television production resources, leaving Fox with its news and sports assets. That package includes A&E and Star TV networks, as well as its regional sports operation, movie studios, and stakes in Sky and Hulu, according to the CNBC report.

    Disney did not have the only bid in what Fox had to offer. The Wall Street Journal and Verizon reported in November that both Verizon and Comcast wanted their stab at this too, but Disney appears to be ahead of the pack.

    After the report Fox's stock climbed 3.9%, while Disney shares dropped 1.4%.
