He is a Magizoologist (wizard who studies magical creatures) and writer of the textbook "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

In the film he travels to New York with a magical case full of creatures.

2. Jacob Kowalski

He is a No- Maj (person who possesses no magical skills) who gets introduced to the wizarding world when he releases some of the animals contained in the magically- expanded suitcase of Newt Scamander.
