6 Things Only College Students Will Understand

Just some things that college students will understand. Some are good, some are bad, and there is definitely some ugly.

    1. Spending way too much money on textbooks that you open twice in the semester. This is always the most frustrating thing when your professor’s syllabus says that the textbooks is “required” but you only use it once or maybe even never. I bet students would enjoy the class better if they had a couple hundred more dollars in their pocket instead of a 10 pound textbook you’ll never use.

    2. Awful Dining Center Meals. We pay thousands of dollars to go to school and use all of the resources they offer and one of them is the dining center. Meals in college aren’t always the easiest to come by so sometimes you resort to the dining center and what do you get? Nothing but dry pasta and overcooked “grilled” chicken. Let me get back there and I’ll show those chefs how real food is made.

    3. That mini heart attack at 3 am when you forgot you had a paper due the next day. You’re peacefully asleep dreaming about the weekend or how you just won a Nobel Prize and then BAM! It hits you. You have a 5 page paper due at 10 am that you, for some reason, thought it was due next week. Good luck kid, you’re going to need it.

    4. Walking to class in extreme weather conditions. As a business student I have to dress business casual for most of my classes which really isn’t bad at all. Throw on some khakis and a polo with some nicer shoes and you’re set. But when it’s 90+ degrees out and you have to wear pants you end up looking like you just ran a marathon by the time you get to class. Or its 10 degrees and there’s a foot of snow on the ground that you have to trudge through for 15 minutes in your nice clothes that will ultimately get ruined. Whether you have to dress up or not it is still one of the worst things about going to class and it hasn’t even started yet.

    5. Being so broke you need to sleep/have a beer for dinner. Many college students don’t have the biggest budget and the small budget we do have we usually spend on alcohol or other things we don’t need (I myself will admit I do this often). Sometimes the best option you have is a couple pieces of bread and a beer to fill you up. In some extreme cases sometimes you just need to close you eyes for an hour or two and hope you’re not hungry when you wake up, but good luck with that one.

    6. Getting free stuff Everyone loves free stuff and one of the best places to get free things is at college. Whether you’re walking through the quad or even through buildings sometimes there is always free stuff getting handed out. You have to love when half of your wardrobe is made up of all the free t-shirts you have gotten right?
