Could You Survive It?

You had heard rumours of a clown maniac terrorising kids all summer. You had never seen him but you...

You wake up and see a balloon outside your window...

What do you have for breakfast?

You're in town... where do you go?

You go to the cinema, what kind of film do you see?

You're on your way home. It's dark and you hear a noise...

You make it to the carnival safely. Where do you go?

You get home. What's the first thing you do?

Your friend sends you a link to a Reddit thread at 3AM that discusses a conspiracy theory about the clown...

Suddenly, your wardrobe door creaks open.

You wake up the next morning, forgetting the events of last night and remembering that you have plans.

You're invited to a party, where do you hangout?

Your crush comes over to you 

A person runs in, crying about how they've just seen the clown outside the basement 

What song did you request to be played at the party that night?

You see a clown in the distance chasing a little boy down the street on your way home

The clown and boy disappear not long after and you get home safely. What do you watch on Netflix to get your mind off it?

You hear someone giggle in the darkness before they call your name. You turn the lamp on and the clown is standing by your bed. What do you do?

The clown informs you that he's going to make you float. He disappears and you panickily decide your next move...

There's no other choice. The clown has kidnapped someone you love. You go to the well in the abandoned mansion. What's your weapon of choice?

You see him at the bottom of the well. It says 'you can never defeat me. You're so weak'. You respond with a movie quote to become badass enough to take him on. You say...

You were one of the popular kids, effortlessly smart on the streets and charismatic enough to prevent anyone from wanting to harm you. You were walking home after a party when you heard a noise that sounded like a popping balloon. The party was wherever you went so you chuckled and went to see what kids wanted to keep on dancing and drinking until dawn. A red balloon drifted towards you but your name was printed on it. 'Billy Shrew, You'll Float Too'. You felt yourself getting nervous, something you rarely did as you knew that you could tackle anything on the streets. You quickly walked backwards but the balloon followed you until it was inches away from your nose. It popped and you jumped before you saw... it.

Billy Shrew: It Got You in the First Scene

You were never a normal kid; everyone made you perfectly aware of that in school. Your mother loved you more than any mother could but your father was a drunk. He abused you until he was killed by your uncle, who was trying to protect you from your father burning you with a poker, and ever since then you've felt happier but still unsafe. Without your mother and five close friends, who were also outcasts, you doubt you'd have anything to live for. You know how to deal with fear and your traumatic life has all been leading to being one of the only kids who can face it without being afraid. 

It had kidnapped all of your friends one by one to draw you down here and you knew that it wouldn't have targeted you specifically unless it knew it needed to possess your weaknesses. You went down the well and it tried to get you by turning into your father with a poker still in his hand. You were terrified and it was seconds away from getting you but then you remember what your uncle did; if you weren't there to protect your friends then they would die by their worst fears. Suddenly it became less of a worry compared to the concern of the ones you love most. It couldn't hurt you because what you feared now came from love. It weakened and crumpled to the floor, leaving only a pile of your father's crumpled clothes before you set them alight and leave the well safely with your friends and returned home, feeling safer than ever.

Felix Grey: Survived

You had always been fascinated by true crime, all of those documentaries and unsolved mysteries. You could spend days researching a murder case and scrolling tumblr to see the conspiracy theories. It became such an obsession that you bunked schools most days and barely had any friends left, except the ones on the internet. But when your mother confiscated your laptop for a week after you quoted Ted Bundy at the dinner table, you realised that freaky things were happening in your own town. Over fifteen children had disappeared over the last month alone yet nobody was filing it as an issue of concern it so this was your chance to document a true crime tale of your own. 
Through speaking to kids in your year, you found out that at least half of them had seen a clown recently after seeing their deepest darkest fear. The clown had spoken to them, knowing their names and offering them things that they desired. A car or adult had always intervened and made the clown disappear but some of their friends hadn't been so lucky. You realise that the one thing that connected the last sighting of the missing kids were the sewers. You go to the library and find an old map of your town; all sewers go to an abandoned house. You venture down with your phone, recording everything and begin to demand his presence. You heard a giggle behind you and turned around and there it was. He was grinning as if you had just entered his trap but you stared at him defiantly, pointing your camera at him. "Say something then, Roland McDonald's ugly twin?" you asked him expectantly. He stared at you as if he was searching your soul and then he begins to tremble. He began to walk backwards whilst pleading you to be scared before he disappeared. You shrugged before stopping the video. You guessed it was enough but you didn't get the hype; he was no Charles Manson.

Eddie Yarrow: You Scared It

You were always popular at school, people always complimented you on your music taste and even older kids asked you for fashion advice and makeup tips. This summer was filled of parties, mainly for the sake of rebelling against the curfew, and you were invited to every single one of them. Now that you were dating Drew Quinn, you had a key to anywhere in the city. Your parents had split up a long time ago and you never thought that true love existed but you found empirical evidence of it through Drew. He promised to take you on a getaway trip to New York before summer ended and you couldn't wait to see what the world could be outside this small town. 

At one party, Drew got pressured into drinking a whole keg and once he took as much as he could handle, you had to walk him home. You were humming his favourite ACDC song as he had started crying; Drew was an emotional drunk and had started frantically apologising for making you leave the party early. Someone giggled as you walked under a walkway in pitch blackness. You paused and stopped singing as someone giggled again, an innocently childish giggle except from a man's voice. You shone your phone torch around, seeing nobody, even though this place was notorious for drug addicts or dealers. Drew was murmuring about how he should've been nicer to his mother that evening and he stumbled over to the nearest wall and slides down it. You tried to get him up, the giggle was continuing to echo through the tunnel, sobering you up immediately. Drew refused to get up so you sigh and began to walk the way you just had come to see who was making the noise. A silhouette of a man popped his head in front of the tunnel and you quickly shone your torch at him to see a pale face and a bush of red hair. You dropped your phone in shock but by the time you picked it up, the man was gone. You checked on Drew to see that he was still fine before you ran over to the entrance to the walkway. He was nowhere to be seen, but on the wall, you saw the words 'Bye Bye Drew, Time for You to Float Too' in blood. Before you could process the words you heard a scream coming from Drew. You ran back but he was no longer there, just a thick trail of blood leading out the tunnel. You called his name in panic before you followed the trail out of the walkway, seeing it stop at the river bank. 

You never found out what happened to him but you never rebelled against the curfew again. Two plane tickets were found in Drew's room for New York. You decided to go but when you were out there, you decided to not go back ever again.

Gracie Denver: It Took Your S/O

You were tired of all this clown business. All of your friends had been saying that weird stuff had been happening to them all summer, they had been seeing things and then a clown appeared for a split second and disappeared. Loads of kids had gone missing but this town had always be a place of inspiration for runaways. You believed that it was something that people were just saying for attention. But your friends had started to change; they always seemed afraid of something. You had always avoided drama at school and you only had a few friends that you hung out with. Your parents had drilled the stranger danger lesson into your mind since you were very young and, even in this small town, you believed that if you left the house, something bad would happen. You always stayed inside and you rarely hung out with friends outside of school as you had your baby brother for company instead. 

One evening, you heard a rattling in the basement whilst you were sick in bed with the flu and your family were at church. You always hated the basement because it was the darkest place in the house; the perfect place for something to hide. You shone your torch and walked down, each step creaking and the rattling getting louder and louder. You reached the bottom and prepare to become a target for terror, like all of the other kids at school had. Your ears were filled with the noise of the high pitched clangs of metal. You shone your torch only to find a raccoon trapped in a cage. You sighed and laughed. Of course nothing strange would ever happen in this town.
