    Is BuzzFeed Racist?

This is no way a dig at Buzzfeed, just my thoughts on a situation that occurred a couple of weeks ago.

About ten or so weeks ago, I created this account on Buzzfeed and immediately began to make my first post.

I was so excited. For the world to see all my research, my hard work, and my passion mix into one article on a website I have always adored.

So, I began writing. Three hours later and I was done. I felt accomplished; I could finally spread my views with the world.

And with that, I clicked "publish". My first ever post, about womens' health when it comes to lack of food and excessive exercise, would soon be seen by many people - or so I thought.

Thinking that I would be on the clear with my article, I waited and waited for a response saying it was approved. No email. In a panic, I decided to email BuzzFeed personally, explaining my article, sending them a draft, and asking if they would be willing to post it.

It has been one month and I have gotten no response for any emails I have sent.

Now, this is not hating on BuzzFeed (as I stated before, I love them), however, I would like an explanation as to why I have received no feedback at all. I do not care if the article is published or not (however, I would hope so as I spent so long on it); I just want a response. A simple "yes" or "no" email is all I'm asking.

Throughout this whole experience, I've been asking myself many questions. I have tried so hard to divert from the whole "identity card" resolution to it, however, it seems as though this is the only possible explanation.

I am autistic, Muslim, a PoC, a transwoman, and an immigrant from Yemen. I have had a terrible past and have tried to create a whole new life for me here in Australia. Despite the fact that I have to deal with racist, sexist, transphobic, xenophobic men on a daily basis, I have managed to pick myself up from the pits of post-immigration depression and have become an overall happier, healthier Zaqeeyah. But now, during this, I can't help but think, "Is it really because I am all that"? I can't imagine BuzzFeed doing anything wrong like that. However, coming out of this, I am left with only one question: Is BuzzFeed racist?
