I'm A Makeup Artist – Here's My Honest Thoughts On The TikTok-Viral e.l.f. Luminous Putty Blush

This is your sign to hop on the blush-trend.

I've been a makeup artist for a few years now, and even create makeup-related content and tutorials on my YouTube channel and social media platforms.

If you're as obsessed with TikTok as I am, you've probably heard all about the e.l.f. Luminous Putty Blush. I'm one of those people that can't get enough of blush right now, so I knew I just had to try this one.

The thing that makes this product so unique is its formula. This Putty Blush has a creamy consistency, but is said to transform into a semi-matte powder finish. I don't know about you, but I'm super curious to see what the texture's like!

I should also mention, it's only £6 from Boots right now – and for a pretty generous amount of product!

It comes in a range of shades, so depending on your shade preference there should be at least one you like the look of. I love an orange-toned blush, so I went for the shade Isla Del Sol.

Okay firstly, the texture. I swatched it on my hand and I'm still baffled at how cool this product is! It feels very creamy to touch, exactly how you'd expect a regular cream product to feel. As I spread it across my hand it melted into my skin and the texture really did form more of a cream/powder hybrid!

Right, now let's apply it. I did my usual makeup as normal and added the putty blush after applying the rest of my liquid and cream products.

As a general rule of thumb, it's always best to try and apply all of your liquid or cream products first, then follow it with all of your powders. As this applies like a cream product, I added it before going in with any of my powder products!

I swirled my brush directly into the pot, then started patting it onto my skin where I would normally apply my blush.

Let me just say, the pigment is amazing. Like seriously, wow. For £6 I didn't have the highest hopes when it comes to how intense the colour pay off would be. But evidently, you only need to apply a little bit for a super flushed look.

Another thing I instantly noticed is how blendable the product is. It literally does melt into the skin with barely any work on your part.

Normally I would always set a product like this with a powder blush to give it a powder finish, keep the blush in place, and ensure it lasts the whole day. After finishing the rest of my makeup I genuinely didn't even feel like I needed to top it up with anything, so I decided to keep it as it is.

    Final thoughts:

If you're looking for something affordable and easy to use, this e.l.f. Luminous Putty Blush is your product. It's a super easy product to work with, so if you consider yourself a bit of a novice when it comes to these kind of things, you can be sure that you're in good hands. I'll definitely be reaching for this again, especially when I want to go for a natural and flushed 'glow from within' kind of look.

You can get it from Boots for £6.
