In 2012, she was a reporter and writer for the award-winning newspaper, Newcity, and also a writer for a health blog, Thank God I'm Natural. She was awarded the opportunity to attend the 2013 American Writer's Program in Boston by Columbia College Chicago to represent the writing program. She is binding her storytelling and editing knowledge with the magazine industry. She also holds an Associates in Graphic Design from Johnson County Community College in Kansas.
