    Whiteout Wednesday.

Storms have fired up across south-east South Australia this afternoon, bringing lighting, thunder and heavy downpours.

According to Weatherzone, a line of storms began popping up on the Yorke Peninsula before noon. The storms then moved in across Adelaide.

Hail was reported in some suburbs, up to one centimetre in size.

Streets and carparks quickly turned to ice...

... while backyards across the city were also covered in a blanket of white.

Some clearly making do with what nature delivered.

As the storms rolled across the city, temperatures also dropped quickly, with Adelaide falling seven degrees in just one hour after lunch today.

This hailstorm is nuts! Roads, footpaths flooded, just saw a bin float by. See the pics on @9NewsAdel at 6pm.

Nothing like a wintery blast to make you appreciate spring just that little more!
