Spreading Love One Button At A Time

Founder Dr. Habib Sadeghi turned an unfortunate event into what is now an international love movement.

Diagnosed with cancer as a medical student years ago, Dr. Sadeghi was inspired by a friend who said, “Habib, I don’t know about the God that you believe in, but the God I believe in is a loving God… He who hasn’t loved yet hasn’t known God, for God is love.” Years later and after overcoming his battle with cancer, Dr. Sadeghi held onto his friend’s words of wisdom and created the first ever “love” button that later inspired the Love Button Movement.

The Love Button Movement has a mission to impact and empower our communities with loving acts of kindness. An overall collaboration with various institutions incorporates the gift of love by promoting a connection amongst people of various backgrounds, ethnicities, businesses, and careers.

Most of us may have heard of this international love movement from the Super Bowl 50 in 2015 when Chris Martin, from the band Coldplay, performed with the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra (YOLA). It was here that the gift of music and love was spread to more than 119.9 million viewers and actual Love Buttons were given out to 75,000 Super Bowl fans.

As listed on their website, the Love Button Movement strives to create “A world where people are inspired to increase community-based philanthropy, volunteerism, and individual acts of kindness among themselves to foster a greater sense of mutual support, connectedness and interdependence that’s essential for society to function in a more cohesive way.”
