We all see the temperatures plummeting. Summer is already a distant memory, and winter looms large before us. What will become of us during the winter? Find out by reminiscing about the best parts of summer.

What will the winter make you?

All you want to do is stay in your comfy home, sit in your kitchen and drink tea motionlessly while vegetables roast in the oven. Slowly your sweater bonds with your flesh and you become a shambling Chewbacca-like creature barely visible through the misty windows, warm and happy.

Tea potato

When winter pings at your window, you waste no time digging out your layers and layers of cold-weather gear. In your chunky boots and Gore-Tex parka you skid out your apartment's front door and out into the forest, onto the frozen lake, to the top of a windy mountain. That air slicing through you is what makes you feel alive.

Ice strider

Screw winter. Immune to the lure of tea and fireplaces, you are pulling up stumps and skedaddling to hotter climes. Living in denial sometimes really does mean a river in Egypt, where it is much, much warmer. Your ideal destination lies down under, where there's cold beer, warm beaches and our old pal George.

Migratory fowl

You say "yes" to winter, "yes" to Berlin, but a hard "no" to the cold. Staying inside these lightly heated plaster and concrete monstrosities full of cold germs and mildew is just as bad as letting the freezing wind outside slice through your sweater and form crystals in your wet socks. Instead, it's time to throw a couple of logs in a stone hole or metal box, pop on your long underwear, spread out a bearskin and, eyes wide, start watching an entire season of Fire TV.
