Pop Rock Band The Vamps Dethrone Ed Sheeran From Number One Album Spot

U.K. band The Vamps score their first ever number one album, preventing Ed Sheeran from latching on to another consecutive week at the top.

Ed Sheeran has been claiming the top throne in the U.K. for a numerous amount of weeks - 14 to be exact. Luckily for pop rock band The Vamps, their latest release entitled Night & Day not only debuted at number one on the official U.K. albums chart but was the "week’s most popular in independent record shops and lands at the top of this week’s Official Record Store Chart".

Night & Day has so far charted in other European territories as well. Top 40 on the Dutch Albums & Belgian Albums chart, #74 on the Italian Albums chart & #85 on the German Albums chart. On the Irish Albums chart it debuted in the top 10 at #6.

Their latest effort contains collaborations with artists such as Martin Jensen, DJ Mike Perry, Sabrina Carpenter, and Argentine singer Tini Stoessel.

Following debut album and sophomore album, Meet The Vamps & Wake Up, the band now possess three top 10 U.K. albums in addition to 8 top 40 U.K. hits.

They recently supported Little Mix on the European leg of the their worldwide Glory Days tour. Stops included Germany, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, France, Austria, etc. The tour is expected to out-gross their previous Get Weird tour.
