Just days after Taylor Swift put out her first re-recorded album Fearless (Taylor's Version), she appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. And in typical Taylor fashion, in her interview about Fearless, she decided to throw her fans for a loop and drop a ton of 1989 clues. Tay mentioned New York City multiple times, which Swifties know is a nod to her 1989 song, "Welcome To New York." At one point, she also literally told Stephen Colbert to "Shake It Off." And towards the end of the interview, Taylor even name dropped her 1989 album. Need we say more? The Swiftie senses are definitely tingling saying that 1989 could be next.

2. Taylor Swift's BRITs look has fans thinking she could re-release two albums at once

Taylor Swift accepted the Global Icon Award at the 2021 BRIT Awards and the Swifties went into full detective mode over Taylor’s outfit, hair, and IG post wondering if any of it referenced which album she will be re-releasing next. Taylor wore a sparkly two-piece skirt and matching top with many of her old signatures like a red lip and straightened blonde bangs. Fans immediately started to wonder what this could mean, because come on, everything Taylor does is a clue right?! This Swiftie tweeted saying, “Taylor's Red era hair with the bangs with 1989 filter vibes IF WE GET TWO RE-RECORDED ALBUMS IN ONE RELEASE ISTG." Two albums at once!? That almost sounds too good to be true, but I wouldn't put it past Taylor!

3. Olivia Rodrigo might've been recruited to drop a Red (Taylor's Version) clue

The BRIT Awards Easter eggs didn’t stop with just Taylor Swift. Fellow artist Olivia Rodrigo was also at the 2021 BRITs and it’s no secret that she and Taylor are close. Taylor has been a longtime role model for Olivia and has been extremely supportive of her music career. The two even met for the first time at the award show and posed for a photo together that Olivia shared on her Instagram page. And believe it or not, fans think Olivia was in on a "Taylor’s Version" Easter egg at the BRITs. Swifties picked up on Olivia's gorgeous red dress during her performance of “drivers license," and think it was a nod to the upcoming re-release of Red. This fully convinced Swiftie tweeted saying, “Ok... TAYLOR TOLD HER TO WEAR RED AND TAYLOR’S HAIR IS LIKE RED ERA. THEM BOTH TOGETHER EQUALS COMPLETE RED ALBUM. OLIVIA IS ON A VAULT SONG ON RED! TELL ME I’M WRONG." We certainly aren’t going to tell you you’re wrong! Anything is possible in the world of Taylor Swift and we would absolutely LOVE to see Olivia featured on a vault song on any of Taylor’s upcoming re-released albums.

4. It can't be a coincidence that Taylor Swift posted three times in a row using lyrics from her track six songs...

After the BRITs Taylor Swift took to Instagram to share three different posts from the night. And like with all things Taylor posts, we had to take a closer look at the captions for clues. Fans were quick to point out that the captions were lyrics from Taylor's songs "mirrorball," "no body, no crime," and "Look What You Made Me Do." And what do these three songs all have in common? They are all track six on their respective albums, of course. Naturally, this had fans wondering if a re-recorded album could be coming in June AKA the sixth month of the year. Others speculated whether it was more specifically a1989 nod considering "Shake It Off," another track six, is one of her most popular songs of all time.

5. Taylor Swift could be hinting what album she is re-recording with her hairstyles

Taylor Swift's look at the BRIT Awards wasn't the first time that fans have wondered if her hairstyle could be a reference to what album she's re-recording. In December 2020, before she announced that she'd be re-releasing Fearless first, Taylor had fans buzzing over her hair when she accepted the award for Apple Music's Songwriter of the Year. People immediately started tweeting things like, “THE BANGS GIVES ME RED VIBES SHE REALLY BE TEASING US." And while yes, she released Fearless first, she still could've also started working on Red at the same time and decided to get in the zone with her Red era hairstyle. Just another sign that Red (Taylor's Version) could be next!

6. Taylor Swift repeatedly using three emojis might mean we're getting her third album Speak Now

We got Fearless (Taylor's Version) first, which is Taylor Swift's second album, so could she be going in order and re-releasing her third album, Speak Now, next? Some fans think so based on Taylor's recent tweets where she used three of the same emoji in a row... twice. Again, if you've been a fan of Taylor Swift for long enough, you know that these little things aren't just coincidences. The first time, she used three of the prayer hands emojis and then the next day, Taylor tweeted using three of the smiling face with a halo emojis. And to further suspicions, in one of those tweets Taylor wrote that she has, "been in the studio all day recording the next one." So while 1989 and Red are definitely major contenders for which "Taylor's Version" is up next, we wouldn't say Speak Now is off the table.

7. Could no clues mean even more than all of these Easter eggs?!

While these Easter eggs are extremely convincing, there's one thing that Taylor Swift does better than dropping clues... she fakes us out with them. While all these theories are impressive, some fans have been pointing out that the one album Taylor hasn't hinted at re-releasing yet is her self titled debut album. This fan flipped our Swiftie worlds upside down when they tweeted saying, "Notice how not a single Taylor Swift fan agrees with each other’s theories of which album she’s re-releasing next? She’s hinted at everything BUT debut... think about it." Ok, my mind has officially been blown. That's enough detective work for one day. See you again next time, Swifties!
