THIS Is The Runway-Approved Bag You’ll Be Carrying In 2017

Fashion enthusiasts will be familiar with the drill; while some items in the closet suggest timelessness, there are a few that are more trend-driven. Now that we’ve stepped into a brand new year, we’re bound to see changes in everything sartorial — from the products we shop for to the outfits we wear. Obviously, these changes are dominated by various external factors be it colour charts (Pantone just announced Greenery is the colour for 2017), street style, celebrity fashion, and most importantly runway designs. Every element of the ensemble, from outfits, accessories, or even handbags, has a new set of trends that one can adopt from. Earlier this week, I just happened to tell you that party sneakers are going to step into the spot of heels this year. Similarly, there are a couple of bag silhouettes that trend forecasters have touted as the IT-bags of 2017. So handbag lovers, and by that I mean those of you who are adamant they’re always on top of their style game when it comes to bags, rejoice! Whether it’s being patient on the waiting list for Mansur Gavriel’s bucket bag or spending all your savings on a designer label you don’t see on your bag shelf, I know how eternal your love for bags is. So, it is important that you MUST know about the one bag that’s worth investing in this year — the circular handle bag.

Chloé Spring Summer 2017

2016 was all about bags with round metallic embellishments — from round hardware closures to zero-purpose circular accent on the bag. Everyone from The Row to Gucci, JW Anderson and even Céline made way for this trend. But this year, the Spring Summer 2017 runway designs saw a slew of bags with round handles. The bucket bag to a big tote, or even the small crossbody, the one feature that was common in them all was its handle. Also, that’s the element that made the bag a statement piece.

Metallic or not, that isn’t the deal as far as one holds on to something circular while lugging a bag. Luxury labels like Givenchy, Chloé, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Roksande, among others took to this trend. And here, I’m calling it the IT-bag of 2017. Buy it, before you spot it as the arm candy for the entire fashion fraternity. You can thank me later.
