Alison Brie and Dave Franco are kind of an "It Couple" in Hollywood these days.
But while preparing for their latest collaboration - Franco's directorial debut 'The Rental', which Brie stars in - the pair decided to go a bit method for research purposes.
In the film, Brie's character takes MDMA (widely referred to by its street name "Molly"), and is in her own world of dancing and tripping out while everyone around her exists in a tumultuous reality.
The pair, who have been married since 2017, decided to take some Molly together in preparation for her scenes. Franco told Insider, "I ended up filming her just to see if we could take away anything from it, where she could study the video later to help her performance. If anything, it reminded her of how happy she is on Molly.
This wasn't the first time they took the drug together either. They actually took Molly together the night they met, and engaged in what Brie would later describe to talk show host Jimmy Fallon as "48 hours of drugs and sex [and] a lot of making out."
While the pair hope to collaborate again in the near future, there's no telling what may come of it. Franco even went on to say that the footage he shot may even be an extra for the DVD - assuming that his wife agrees, of course.
"The Rental" is now available On Demand, in select theaters, and drive-ins.
