No person should feel the need to spend $30 on a shirt or sweater. When entering a thrift store, you are surrounded by rows and rows of more than affordable clothes. Pants for $10, shoes for $12, and shirts for $7! On top of these extremely low prices, there are sales, some being 50% off! We're talking about that shirt that costs $7 now being $3.50! If you can overlook the fact that the items are secondhand, you can find yourself saving a ton of money! And because of the low prices, it makes it so much easier to change up your look without going into debt. And if you go home and suddenly fall out of love with that dress you bought, it's no big deal, it was just $5 anyway!

If you're going to the mall, you're probably going to get a specific item. That's another difference with going thrifting, usually thrifters go shopping in hopes of finding a good deal, and not necessarily a specific item. The biggest appeal about thrifting is that it is much like a treasure hunt, you never know what you'll find. One day, you might find a brand new sweater for less than it would be at the mall, and another day you might find a lightly used pair of Doc Martens. Most of all, the originality of the pieces you'll find is high. You'll seldom look like the person next to you.

Malls are infamous for being loud and crowded, but this not everyone's cup of tea. When going thrifting, whether with a friend or alone, it is usually a more peaceful shopping event. Though there is music playing in the store, it is still very possible to focus on the task at hand. It's usually less crowded in the shopping aisles, and it is possible to have a conversation with a friend without shouting over the noise of other customers.
