Can we please talk about Virgin River?

This Netflix gem is the romance we all need right now. WARNING! May contain spoilers!

The story of a small town with a lot of heart.

Mel, a nurse practitioner from Los Angeles, uproots her life and decides to start over in a tiny town outside of Eureka, CA. She is met with many challenges and triumphs during her first thirty days, one of which is a new love interest, Jack.

    Jack & Mel

Let's take a minute to appreciate this entire show.

Not only is the blossoming love between this couple something to talk about and swoon over, but so is every relationship in this series. Hope and Doc, Preacher and Paige -- and not just the couples, but also the love the town folks have for one another, as well. The genuine care these people have for eachother is something mostly lacking in today's society. Even when it seems unhealthy, their love is seen and felt through every character. Not to mention that the acting is amazing!

Colin Lawrence as Preacher, Ben Hollingsworth as Brady, Martin Henderson as Jack, Annette O'Toole as Hope, and Tim Matheson as Doc

Every character, even when you don't want to like them, is genuinely likeable.

Whether you ship Charck or Jalinda, you can't deny that Charmaine, despite the drama, is ultimately a loveable character and Lauren Hammersley plays her so well. Same goes for Hope and her group of gossiping gal pals. No matter how meddlesome, you are drawn to each of their stories and personalities. The show is fantastic at making you care about the welfare of each and every one of them. Even Calvin and his group of goons manages to pique the viewer's interest.

The ladies and their knitting circle

And the characters feel real and relatable!

The flashbacks lend the viewer an inside look into each person and makes them feel something for each character. Their stories are relatable and serve up just the right amount of drama. The show feels dramatic without being OVERdramatic, which had me sold. It doesn't try too hard and still warms your heart with each episode. It's not all depressing and negative or trying too hard. It's exactly what the doctor ordered (pun intended) for that quarantine, fall weather blues. If you're a romance lover or drama series fan, this is right up your ally.

    David Cubitt as Calvin

It sort of got lost in the hubbub over Emily In Paris.

But let's not let that happen any longer. This show deserves love and attention. Go give it a watch, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Binge away, my friends!
