1. New Year's Eve began with police issuing many, many warnings against drinking and driving. They often had a little fun with the messages.

4. But in spite of the warnings, some people hit the liquor pretty early. At 6 a.m. in St. Catharines, Ontario, police busted a drunk driver.

1/2 At approx. 6 am this morning a male drove his pick up into the Sobeys on Glendale in St. Cath. He was injured & arrested for impaired.


5. ...after he did this with his pickup.

2/2 The male's injuries are believed to be minor. A media release will follow later today.

6. A little while later somebody in Barrie, Ontario lost their phone.
