A 58-Year-Old Comedian Claimed Gen Z'ers Lack Basic Life Skills, And I Need To Know How True You Think That Is

Ahhh, yes, because that seven-month difference between me being in Gen Z and me being a millennial changes everything.

If you've been online this week, then you've likely seen a now-viral stand-up from family-friendly comedian Karen Morgan.

Recently, Karen did a show with Dry Bar Comedy where she joked about key differences between Gen Z, millennials, Gen X, and boomers.

    Karen's Gen Z portion starts at: 4:02

In the video, Karen says, "Gen Z doesn't know how to write a check; they don't know how to address an envelope; they don't know how to read cursive; they don't know how to read a paper map." She then goes on to say, "All I'm saying is, if Gen Z takes over the world, it's going to be pretty easy to get it back."

The Gen Z clip was posted to Dry Bar Comedy's TikTok page, and it found itself garnering over 692,000 views and thousands of comments. And Gen Z'ers on TikTok were QUICK to defend themselves:

"I know it's just jokes and comedy, but as a Gen Z, I can do all of those things. It's a little touch and go on the paper map, but otherwise, it's not hard."

Comment reads: "I know it's just jokes and comedy, but as a Gen Z, I can do all of those things. It's a little touch and go on the paper map, but otherwise it's not hard"

"Wait until she finds out most of us do, in fact, know how to do these things."

Comment reads: "Wait until she finds out most of us do, in fact, know how to do these things."

And in the midst of war, Gen Z was able to find allies in those from older generations:

"I never understood these 'jokes.' We're the ones that should've taught them, or are we mad we don't need those things anymore?"

Comment reads: "I never understood these 'jokes.' We're the ones that should've taught them, or are we mad we don't need those things anymore?"

"My Gen Z kid showed his boomer grandma how to run her iPad when he was 5, just saying."

Comment reads: "My Gen Z kid showed his boomer grandma how to run her iPad when he was 5, Just sayin"

So, I would love for Gen Z to weigh in themselves on what we're capable of:

If you're a Gen Z'er and know of other things that other generations think we're unaware of, please let us know in the comments! And if you have your own opinions about Gen Z's capabilities, we would love to know that, too.
