    College Carol Part I

Who I Came to College As

Hi, I'm College Carol. I chose this name because back home I would make jokes to my friends/family about my alter ego, College Carol. E.g. I would come home past curfew and I'd tell my parents, "Sorry, I guess that was College Carol's curfew."

    A Little Bit About Myself...

My favorite things in this world are my family, my friends, food, naps, and Netflix...not in any specific order.

I like being outdoors and swinging at the park or hiking up a mountain (which I've somehow managed to do many times), but I am happiest doing the little things in life with the people I love. My family and friends are the most important things to me. Whether it's family dinner or having game night with my friends, these are the things that I love doing in my free time.

If I'm not sleeping, it's safe to assume I'm eating or binge watching the latest Netflix fad. I love all different kinds of food and I have a huge sweet tooth (pretty sure I've eaten my weight in chocolate croissants since college started). My favorite shows include but are not limited to Friends, How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, Grey's Anatomy, and Breaking Bad. I'll stop there so it at least looks like I leave my bedroom on occasion.

    College Carol Gets Deep

Despite College Carol's rebellion, I have an amazing family who have instilled strong values and beliefs in me. I have two amazing parents and two siblings: an older sister and a younger brother.

I think it's very important to know your values, beliefs, limitations, and expectations of others and yourself. I have a good set of values. The four most important values to me are basic, but essential: honesty, kindness, respect, friendship.

    * I am a very honest person, maybe sometimes too much. If you can't be honest with yourself or others, there's no point to anything anyone says or does. Whether it's telling someone your honest opinion or being able to confront someone in a difficult or awkward situation, honesty is key.

    * Be kind; it's that simple.

    * If you respect me, I will respect you. It's something so easy to do, yet, so many people are closed-minded and disrespectful toward each other.

    * My friends are what keep me afloat. I believe it's incredibly important to make good, true friends, which I have been blessed with. But be a good friend because there is nothing worse than fake friends.

My parents have also raised me Catholic. I have gone to private school up until this point and I am extremely thankful for my education and faith. My parents have high expectations of me, but they also understand that if I try my best, that's all that matters.

    #blessed

Wait, I'm only 18 and Don't Know Everything?

I am 18. I was raised in a small, conservative town. I'm not afraid to admit that I don't know a lot.

But I'm ok with the fact that I still have so much to learn: knowledge and skills.

The thing I don't know a lot about is the infamous Real World. However, the further I get into college, and then after graduation, I'll slowly become wiser. Hopefully.
