Hawaiian-Style Hot Dogs

Summer means it's time to bust out the grill! Crispy bacon and sweet pineapple will make these hot dogs an instant crowd-pleaser at any BBQ.

INGREDIENTS

Servings: 4

1 pack standard hot dogs

8 hot dog buns

1½ cups pineapple, diced

½ lb bacon, cooked

½ red onion, sliced thin

¼ cup fresh cilantro leaves

1 large avocado, cut into cubes

Ketchup, for serving

PREPARATION

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and brush the grate with cooking oil (you can also just use a stovetop grill pan instead!).

2. Cook hot dogs until browned to preference, 2 to 5 minutes. Toast opened hot dog buns for about 1 minute each.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the pineapple, bacon, red onion, cilantro, and avocado to make a slaw.

4. To assemble, place a hot dog in a bun and top it with a line of ketchup. Garnish with the mixed slaw and some fresh cilantro leaves. Enjoy!
