    GET OUT Movie Review

WOW. This movie was amazing AND disturbing on so many levels... It gets an A for wild creativity and extreme creepiness and suspense. I love love Jordan Peele, and the way that he creatively tackles America's racial issues, and still keeps some comedy and edginess alive in this movie is brilliant. I think the lead character, Daniel Kaluuya, will be tapped for MANY more movies in the future. He was brilliant.(AND too sexy). The movie kept us on our toes the whole time... The theater was packed with whites, blacks and all-in-between, but as the movie continued, you could clearly see the racial divide amongst the attendees. At the end, many minorities were cheering, but I could see some of the white attendees were really uncomfortable. I felt genuinely bad for the non-black attendees watching this film. Some of their faces and body language read extreme uneasiness and others, pure shock. One guy was there with his teen daughter and they both looked like deer in headlights. It reminded me of the time, my sister (who's Muslim) and I were in the movie watching IRONMAN, and then the movie went from Anthony Stark (AMERICA's hero!!) showing off his IRONMAN weapons to being captured by Islamic radicals. And it was at that point, that the attendees seated in front of us turned around to look at us with a weird look -- almost as if to say... "Hey why'd you do that to Tony Stark?" -- like we were seriously responsible for this fictional character's kidnapping. (WTF?) It was just extremely AWKWARD, and we never saw it coming. So for my non-black friends, if you haven't seen GET OUT already, I will give you the disclaimer my sister and I never got -- SERIOUS racial issues will be addressed and examined, so be prepared for something different. If you ARE gully for an interesting night, then check out this movie. HOWEVER, if you want to see an old-fashioned horror flick, find another movie. This ain't it :)
