7 Signs You Are A Feminist

These 7 indicators will determine whether you are a feminist, even if you think you aren't one.

1. You don't actually hate men

Yes, men can be infuriating; but you get that not all men are pigs. You don’t use the phrase, “all guys are…” because it would be like saying “all girls are…” and you don’t want to normalize those phrases.

2. You do, however, hate President Trump

Obviously, President Donald Trump is more of a divider than a uniter. He’s openly called Mexicans rapists and bragged about grabbing women by the pussy. It’s safe to say that President Trump does not stand for equality unless it’s equality for men of different shades of white.

3. You don't want to be a typical housewife

You want to be more than just someone’s wife/mother. A fulfilling career is more appealing to you than being a stay at home mom. Maybe one day you'll want to eventually settle down.

4. You're all about challenging gender roles

You don’t think twice about men being dancers or women being mechanics. You don’t believe men can only fit under certain career paths and that women can only fit under certain career paths; you don’t categorize men and women based on what they “should” be.

5. You don't think girls have to like pink or play with dolls!

You think it’s perfectly normal for girls not to like pink or play with dolls and that it’s perfectly normal for boys to like pink and play with dolls. You also think little girls can play with “boyish toys” like trucks and toy guns.

6. You HATE school dress codes

It makes you furious when girls get dress coded for their tank top straps being “too thin” or their skirts, dresses, or shorts being “too short”. Apparently dressing “modestly” and “conservatively” is more important than girls getting an education and making boys out to be animals with uncontrollable sexual urges.

7. You don't take sh*t from anybody

If someone says something sexist or racist to you, you don't sit back quietly. You come back at them with anti-bigotry knowledge and shut them down.
