37 Gifts From Black-Owned Businesses For Everyone On Your List

If you're in need of a birthday gift, a housewarming gift, or just a treat yourself kinda present, you're bound to find the perfect pick in this round-up.

1. Liquid Matte Lipstick from The Lip Bar formulated with highly pigmented color that lasts throughout the day. No more reapplying your lipstick every time you take a drink or eat some food!

The Lip Bar is woman-owned. All of their products are vegan and cruelty-free — and they do so much more than just lipstick — check out all of their face and eye makeup as well!

Here's what my co-worker Kayla Boyd says about this lipstick: "I use The Lip Bar's matte liquid lipsticks often and the formula is truly incredible. It hardly budges at all throughout the day, the pigment is bomb, AND it doesn't dry out my lips at all — which is really difficult to find in a matte lipstick."

Get it from The Lip Bar for $13 (available in 18 shades) or Target for $12.99 (available in 10 shades).

2. A candle from Harlem Candle Company that just exudes sophisticated coziness. When they're done burning the candle below, it can be transformed into a fancy cocktail glass. Two gifts in one!

Harlem Candle Company

This is a Black woman-owned company founded in 2014 by Teri Johnson to help embody her love of jazz music and Harlem.

Here's what my colleague Sally Elshorafa says about her candles from Harlem Candle Company. "The soy vegetable wax blend candles are made with one-of-a-kind fragrance oils. I recently burned through a tin of the Holiday scent and it lasted SO much longer than other candle tins of that size. I'm currently on the Speakeasy candle that smells incredibly luxurious and rich. If I'm awake and in my apartment, a candle is lit. But I think I'll ration the Speakeasy beaut to keep it around even longer."

Hairbrella is a Black-owned small business that has been creating fashionable hats that protect hair from all kinds of weather since 2016.

Promising review: "I traveled to London last month with a raincoat that did not have a hood, and I wanted something that would protect my head/hair/blowout without lugging an umbrella. This definitely did the trick. Two of the three days were rainy (some quite heavy) and my hair stayed totally dry. It stows nicely, too. I'm still learning how to adjust it while it's on my head (easier to adjust first and then put it on). Also, when I do have it tightened/pulled to the right place, the loop/slack from where I adjusted it sort of sticks out and gets in my peripheral vision. I wish the adjustment/clasp was on less prominent. But, all in all, this is perfect for anyone who wants to keep their blowout fresh in the rain." —Miss Information

Get it from Amazon for $39.99 (available in 11 colors).
