    1. Something undoubtedly crashed in the fields of Foster Ranch, just northwest of Roswell, New Mexico.

    2. The Roswell Daily Record's front page ran a headline that claimed to have captured a “flying saucer.”

    3. A press release came out later with a correction, claiming that it was actually a weather balloon that'd crashed.

    4. Years later, a public information officer named Walter Haut, said the photo was staged and the materials shown weren't from the crash site.

    5. In 1978, UFO researcher Stanton Friedman reignited the Roswell controversy.

    6. In 1994, the government admitted that there actually was a cover-up, but it had nothing to do with aliens.

    7. Upon requesting files from Roswell Air Force Base, it was discovered that all records from January to October of 1947 were destroyed.

    8. According to a local radio personality named Frank Joyce, Brazel said that there were alien bodies at the scene.

    9. Supposed witnesses gave consistent descriptions of the alleged alien bodies.
