Promising review: "I held out for months waiting for the gym to reopen and finally reached the point where I realized my monthly fee savings could pay for a quality bike. I researched the options and finally settled on the Nautilus recumbent as best for both my wife who has back issues and myself (an avid cyclist), and am so impressed. Having been burned in the past with exercise equipment that was not well built I am so glad I stretched to get this bike. It is relatively easy to assemble and I was putting it together was very pleased with the solid feel of the parts. My wife uses it daily and I use it when the weather does not allow me to bike outside and we are both continually struck by how well-designed and -built it is (we are now two months in with owning it). If you had asked me a year ago if I'd spend this type of money for a piece of home gym equipment, I'd have said no way, but oddly happy the pandemic forced me down this road as will make easier to get in my workouts even once the pandemic is over. I normally don't write reviews but feel like a high-quality product should be rewarded by a strong review." —A Lexington, VA reader

Promising review: "Y’all, this bike is a BEAST. I bought it four years ago (2016), and loved it from the beginning — quiet, comfy and easy to fold up. Exactly what we needed — nothing more, nothing less. We've moved three times since then. The bike has sat in screened in porches for weeks at a time, been stuffed into closets, gone up and down stairs, been covered in pollen, animal hair, dust, rain, sweat, probably blood, you name it. And boy has it been used! Miles and miles and miles. It has watched dozens of movies with me, and listened to many podcasts. and it is still as quiet and comfortable as the day we got it. Cannot recommend more highly." —J. Griffin

Promising review: "This bike is fantastic for the price! It's easy on the back, nice on the eyes, and gives a good work out. It's stable and easy to get on and off. It's actually the second Marcy exercise bike I've bought. I sold my first one when I moved. When I decided to get a replacement, I read many reviews on several different bikes. I decided to buy the Marcy again -- and I'm not disappointed. You can't beat the price or value of the Marcy!...Fortunately, assembly was a breeze -- all the parts were there and with nothing bent or broken." —TeacherGal

Promising review: "My cousin has a 35-year-old version and I use it when I visit her. So I decided to get myself one. I bought this particular bike after researching for three solid days all the different types/styles and reviews. My intention was to put it in my bedroom for use while watching tv. My family loves it so much that I've left it in the family room for all to use....for now, haha! It was very easy to put together. And the noise level is surprising quiet. The seat is not an issue for us either. I would definitely recommend this bike, we love it!" —LoriSue

Promising review: "Is it wrong to love a stationary bicycle so much? I don't care; I've got a crush on this one. I absolutely did not expect quality the features this one has at this price point, nor did I really believe it would fold up so easily and slip into a closet. But the features are awesome, and it folds up into a mere slip of a thing. And yet it's sturdy and feels safe. I can roll this into the living room and go for an hour while watching television. I can easily unfold it in the bedroom and get an intense cardio workout by cranking up the tension. I've bought quite a few pieces of exercise equipment off TV or other ads, and every single one has been sent back. Not this one! I love it." —Mary A. Madsen

    9. A bike with moveable handlebars for an integrated, lower and upper body workout. 💪

gray exercise bike with moveable handlebars in reviewer's living room

Promising review: "We have been using the bike for six weeks now. I use it 45 minutes at least five times a week, and my husband and son both use it as well. It shipped pretty quickly. I’ve got a chronic back injury, and this has really helped me. My husband was able to put it together without a lot of hassle, and the issues with the pedals have been fixed. It’s got about nine levels of resistance, I wish they went higher, but it’s fine for our use. The seat slides to adjust different users height, though the seat isn’t padded. I got a memory foam sports seat cushion that works pretty well. The console measures miles, total odometer, calories, and time. It’s got a pulse monitor, but gripping the handles to activate the sensor is pretty much impossible, so I ignore that. All together, it’s a good bike for the money, especially during quarantine and winter weather." —My public persona

The bike is very sturdy and the classes are great. I've been using it for over a month and no regrets. If you are trying to decide on what bike to get, you won't be wrong if you choose the Echelon. I purchased the EX5 and use an Ipad. Works great..." —Marcelo B.

    reviewer using foot pedal bike

Promising review: "This is a great little bike for under the desk. I peddle for about an hour a day, and it has helped a ton with my health and mood. The resistance just doesn’t go up very high, so if you are looking for that, you might need to go with a more expensive model. This bike, for me, is equivalent to taking a nice walk! Perfect for winters cooped up inside. :)" —Malissa

Price: $42.58+ (available in two colors)

    14. A foldable exercise bike with resistance bands and dumbbells with resistance bands and dumbbells, so you'll have alllll you need for a complete, full-body workout. One and done 👏👏👏 (my favorite.)

black exercise bike with red handle bars, dumbbell attachment, and red resistance bands on back of seat

Promising review: "This bike was super easy to assemble. It only took about 30-45 minutes to get unboxed and set up. The display runs on two AA+ batteries, but you don't need the display on to use the bike, which is super convenient because I can take the batteries out and lay my phone, laptop or tablet on the screen (it presses the button laying on the screen, so I prefer taking the batteries out). It's beyond quiet while using it, and it's super smooth to use. I also love the back rest, I didn't realize how nice that would be. It's also super easy to move with the wheels on the bottom. And there are a lot of resistance options, though right now it's loud and a bit tight when changing the resistance. It's also nice having the resistance bands and weights on the bike. I like moving my arms and getting blood flow to my upper body while on the bike, and they are a great super light workout. It's also super compact and perfect for our small apartment.

I've only used it maybe 10–15 times since I got it about a week ago, and it seems to be doing well so far. If this bike keeps performing the way it does, it's absolutely worth it for $150! Better than spending $30+ for a gym membership." —Brianna Deleasa

This Sunny bike holds up to any of those bikes. It may even be better. The ride is smooth and bike is very stable. It was super easy to put together as well." —TeriG
