Holiday Party Snack Mix 4 Ways

Your next holiday party isn’t complete without these amazing homemade Chex mixes!

Rosemary and Thyme Cocktail Chex™ Party Mix

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups Corn Chex TM Cereal

3 cups Rice Chex TM Cereal

2 cups mixed nuts

1⁄4 cup butter, melted

1⁄2 teaspoon garlic salt

1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves

1 cup bite-sized wheat crackers (from 8-ounce box)

PREPARATION:

1. Line a large-rimmed cookie sheet with waxed paper. In large microwavable bowl, add cereals and mixed nuts.

2. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on high for 20 to 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in garlic salt, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary; pour onto cereal and nut mixture. Stir mixture thoroughly to evenly coat.

3. Microwave uncovered on high for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring after every minute, until well coated and slightly toasted. Spread on a cookie sheet to cool for about 15 minutes.

4. Transfer to large serving bowl; stir in crackers.

Reindeer Feed Chex™ Party Mix

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups Honey Nut ChexTM cereal

3 cups Chocolate ChexTM cereal

11⁄2 cups peanut butter–filled pretzels

1 cup salted roasted peanuts

1 cup holiday-colored chocolate candies

PREPARATION:

In large serving bowl, mix all ingredients.

Christmas Chex™ Party Mix

INGREDIENTS:

6 cups Rice Chex TM or Corn Chex TM cereal

2 cups miniature marshmallows (from 10.5-ounce bag)

1 cup mini pretzel twists (from 16-ounce bag)

15 ounce vanilla candy coating (almond bark) (about 9 cubes from 20-ounce

package)

3 tablespoons holiday-colored sprinkles or nonpareils

1⁄4 cup powdered sugar

1 cup holiday-colored chocolate candies

PREPARATION:

1. Line a large-rimmed cookie sheet with waxed paper. In large bowl, mix cereal, marshmallows, and pretzels.

2. In medium microwavable bowl, microwave candy coating uncovered on high for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring after 1 minute, until almost melted. Stir until smooth. Pour onto cereal mixture; mix well.

3. Spread on cookie sheet; sprinkle with holiday sprinkles, and cool completely, about 15 minutes. Break into bite-sized pieces.

4. In 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag, add coated cereal pieces and powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake to coat. Remove from bag; discard any remaining powdered sugar.

5. In large serving bowl, mix coated cereal mixture and chocolate candies.

Brown Sugar Spice Chex™ Mix

INGREDIENTS:

6 cups Vanilla ChexTM cereal

1⁄2 cup gluten-free whole roasted almonds

1⁄2 cup gluten-free whole roasted cashews

2 tablespoons melted butter

1⁄4 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

11⁄2 teaspoons water

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1⁄2 cup gluten-free yogurt-covered cranberries or yogurt-covered raisins

PREPARATION:

1. In large microwavable bowl, measure cereal and nuts; set aside. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper.

2. In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter uncovered on high for 30 seconds; stir and microwave 30 to 60 seconds longer or until melted. Stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, water, and spices. Microwave 30 seconds or until boiling. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated.

3. Microwave uncovered on high for 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture is glazed. Cool 5 minutes; stir in cranberries. Spread on cookie sheet to cool. Store in airtight container.
