Just 35 Products That Have Helped Reviewers Get Better Sleep

Weighted sleep masks, lavender bubble bath, adjustable pillows, and apps that'll have Cillian Murphy whispering a bedtime story in your ear.

    1. A dual zone comforter if you're in the happiest, healthiest relationship you've ever been in but you simply *cannot* agree on a blanket that keeps you both cozy.

The duvet showing one half is warm and the other is cool
    Amazon

One side of the comforter is warm while the other is cold — and the tie duvet tabs on either side tell you exactly which is which.

Promising review: "I’m always hot and my boyfriend is always cold so I thought I’d try this out after reading a lot of good reviews and now I’m here to add to that list. We just got ours yesterday, so last night was the first time using it and we both were very impressed! I usually wake up multiple times in the middle of the night sweating but I didn’t wake up once! 10/10 recommended for people who have different sleep temps than their significant other!" —Cassie Wheeler

Get it from Amazon for $129.99+ (available in two sizes and four colors).

    2. Hatch white noise machine so you can be lulled to sleep by the calming sound of a crackling fire or pitter-patter of rain on a window instead of the cacophony of car horns, fireworks, and backyard BBQs that are *actually* going on outside your home.

Gif of the sunrise clock gradually brightening
    Hatch

The white noise machine offers so much more, too. It also has sunrise/sunset features to help you rise and shine naturally instead of to the blare of an alarm and you can control everything right from your phone. You can personalize and automate your routine as well as fire up sleep stories and meditations with your included free trial of Hatch Premium.

Promising review: "The Hatch Restore is an amazing product that has been able to keep me asleep through the whole night. Over the past month or so, I have had trouble sleeping and this product has really allowed me to get back on track and create a solid routine. One of my favorite features is the wide variety of guided meditations it has to offer. I have found that these truly allow my mind to unwind before bed for a better night's rest. This is an overall great product with an intuitive and easy to use app. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has been struggling with their sleep." —Jen

Get it from Amazon for $129.99.

    3. A pack of (admittedly creepy-looking) sleep strips that'll stop your snores in their tracks. If you wake yourself up with the noise of your own aggressive mouth breathing, these are for you, baby!

The box which has a model wearing a sleep strip
A reviewer's photo of their sleep tracker which shows a zero snore score after using the strips

Promising review: "I go through my day habitually nose breathing. However, once I go to sleep, I start mouth breathing, and I snore. After the first night I used this strip, I noticed that my nose wasn't clogged at all. I'm usually congested until I take a hot shower. My wife told me that I slept silently, not the slightest snoring sound. To prove it, she recorded one night without the strip and one night with. The results sleep for themselves. I haven't missed a night since I saw how much my sleep improved. No dry mouth, no congestion, no waking up my wife!" —Amazon Customer

    4. A Bluetooth-enabled eye mask so you can listen to white noise or the sweet, sweet sound of Cillian Murphy telling a "Sleep Story" — in his trademark Cork brogue — on the Calm app (highly suggest).

A reviewer wearing the sleep mask
A different reviewer holding the mask so you can see the contoured eye padding

After a bout of pandemic-induced insomnia I picked up one of these USB-chargeable masks and can honestly say it was LIFE changing. If you're sensitive to light or sound, this mask is where it's at. The contoured, cool-to-the-touch eye pads are super cozy and extra padding on the bridge of the nose ensures no light seeps in. I was concerned about feeling the headphones through the mask and not being able to sleep in my usual position (mountain climber, the hands down comfiest position), but they really are unnoticeable. I can sleep through the night with it on and the Velcro straps have never once gotten stuck in my hair.

Promising review: "Currently I share a room with someone who HAS to sleep with the TV on — not sure if it’s for a night light or what, but it bugs me. They also sleep with it at an annoying volume. This means my dreams are interrupted by 4 a.m. music or commercials and it messes up my already messed up sleep cycle. Being over the constant arguing and back and forth about it, I bought this and I LOVE IT!! The charge is great, they are super comfortable, and they fit comfortably over my head wrap that keeps my braids neat at night. If I play white noise or a sleep playlist, I fall asleep and don’t wake up a bunch in the middle of the night. It also helps with cutting down my nighttime phone boredom use. With the controls right on your forehead I don’t need to pick my phone back up to adjust the volume. It drowns out the TV enough that I can stay asleep with out having my dreams hijacked by infomercials but low enough that I can hear if my kids need me! Also no longer hear them snore or grind their teeth!!" —Rhayvn

    5. Or a Sheex x Brrr° silky sleep mask that cools your noggin and encourages quality sleep with what the brand calls the Triple Chill Effect — a quick-drying, sweat-wicking, mineral-infused fabric that blocks out light and even helps relieve tension headaches.

a model wearing the mask in mist gray
    Sheex

Sheex is a woman-owned small business from Michelle Marciniak and Susan Walvius — former University of South Carolina basketball coaches who set out to make bedding as comfortable as their favorite performance fabrics.

Promising review: "I’m one of those who rarely reviews things, and when I received this in the mail I legitimately thought I was scammed out of $30. It looks like nothing, just your average silky eye mask. I put it on and it certainly didn’t feel like anything special. Ha, I ate those words. I don’t know what kind of black magic they’re using in the manufacturing process (especially with these supply chain issues), but I actually can’t be without it now. It fully covers my eyes in the lightest, most comfortable way, and it doesn’t feel restrictive at all. Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, there were three nights in a row that I slept 9+ HOURS !!! I mean, this is not a drill. My husband thought something was wrong with me. Bottom line, I’m getting some of the best sleep I’ve gotten since before the pandemic. Do your battle-tattered body a favor and get one of these." —Ruth

Get it from Sheex for $26.25 (originally $35; available in three colors).

    6. Orrrrr (last mask, I promise!) NodPod — a weighted sleep mask that offers gentle, evenly distributed pressure and a light- and sound-blocking experience so you can feel like you're in a sensory deprivation tank minus the water and $10,000 upfront cost.

a model wearing the purple sleep mask
    Amazon

Nodpod is a female-founded small business that specializes in these sleep masks.

Promising review: "There's something about placing this weighted thing on my eyes when I'm tossing and turning that lulls me back to sleep. The shape of it is a bit weird — it's not a typical eye mask, it's much bulkier and doesn't fasten on in the same way — but once you get beyond that, this can really be a beautiful thing. I keep it on my bedside table and use it if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep (which happens often) or once the sun rises, and I want to sleep in a little more. If you have sleep issues, I'd recommend trying this novel product." —Veronicam

Get it from Amazon for $34 (available in four colors).

    7. A soothing Dr. Teal's bubble bath with Epsom salts, lavender, and melatonin. Go ahead — nudge, nudge — use a heavy hand.

    the bottle of bubblebath
a reviewer's tub full of bubbles

I spend 25% of my life in the bath so I may be biased here, but man I love this stuff. The scent isn't too strong and the bubbles are long-lasting — two things that I always look for!

Promising review: "This product has worked wonders in my life. I have bad skin allergies. Anything from the wrong fabric against my skin to eating the wrong food can give me a full body rash. Bathing in this really helps soothe my skin during a flare up. I also tend to be an insomniac. This product helps get me to sleep and de-stress anytime I use it." —Jasmin Gardner

Get it from Amazon for $4.87 or Target for $5.99.

    8. A set of blackout curtains, because while your succulent collection lovesss how much natural light floods in each morning, you could do with a few more hours of darkness.

reviewer's bedroom with the beige blackout curtains pulled open to show daylight outside
same reviewer's bedroom with the curtains pulled closed. The room is completely dark.

Promising review: "The curtains work great. I ordered them because my bedroom is on the second floor and faces the west. We have had a number of 90+ days and it was so hot in the bedroom I couldn't sleep. These have cooled the room considerably and block out most of the light. The only light is what is coming from the top or around the sides. So I would definitely buy again." —Paula Payton

Get it from Amazon for $17.95+ (available in 18 sizes and 28 colors).

    9. An insulated soundproofing strip that sticks right on your door to fill any gaps that allow noise to infiltrate your safe sleep space. These will make it easier to ignore the sounds that usually wake you up at 4 a.m. — you know, like your cat's zoomies, the cars that rev their engines for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, and the squeals of that raccoon who frequents your trash can.

A reviewer's door with the strip already installed on the edges

Psst — this insulated strip also stops air conditioning and heat from escaping out of the crack under the door, saving energy and money!

Promising review: "I have roommates who always watch TV loudly until midnight so I purchased this to seal the gap in my door. It really reduced 90% of the noise from living room!!! I can finally have a nice sleep!!!" —wen yan

Get it from Amazon for $8.57+ (available in two lengths and four colors).

    10. A pack of light-dimming stickers if your journey to sleep always takes a left turn the second you make eye contact with the bright beam of light on your (still very much loved) Blu-Ray player.

Another reviewer image with the light dimming tape over the light

You get a set of 100 stickers made to fit all sorts of electronics, so you can find the ones that will work perfectly for you.

Promising review: "This is a very clever product that is well-made. I use them to cover the lights on my HEPA filter in the bedroom and on several other things. I’d like to reach the bloody smoke detector on the ceiling, but my ladder isn’t tall enough. I highly recommend these for people that are sensitive to light while sleeping like I am. They make a big difference. I’m very grateful to the manufacturers and the people that conceived of this product. Thank you." —Alex S.

Get a pack of 100 from Amazon for $4.89.

    11. An adjustable pancake pillow so you can stop punching your existing pillow into submission. Feeling like a flat, barely there pillow? Pull out one or more of the six inserts. Need a whole lotta support the next night? Stuff 'em back in.

one upright pancake pillow and one open so you can see the inserts
    Amazon

The pillow features a zippered design so you can easily pull out/readjust the down alternative inserts as needed.

Promising review: "Thank god for this pillow!!! I’ve been on the search for a while now and I am so happy with this one. I took two of the layers out and now it’s perfect for me. Nice and soft and still supportive. I’m sleeping so much better now."Anna Durtschi

Get it from Amazon for $79.99+ (available in Queen and King sizes).

    12. A temperature-regulating, cocoon-like sleep pod that offers the same comfort as a weighted blanket, but without any extra heat. Go ahead, swaddle yourself up and enjoy the four-way stretch.

Two models using the sleep pods in bed
    Sleep Pod

Promising review: "The Sleep Pod is absolutely amazing. I am 41 and have had sleep maintenance insomnia for most of my life. If you don't know what that is I fall asleep fine but don't stay asleep. I'd wake up between four and eight times a night and sometimes only sleep two hrs and that'd be it. I have used the hug sleep for a week and have slept between seven and nine hours only waking up once. It's comfortable not too warm and the pressure it applies is comforting not restricting. I have recommended to everyone." —Amy Archambault

Get it from Sleep Pod for $69.99 (available in sizes S–L).

    13. A tub of Lush's silky sleepy lotion which encourages rest and rejuvenation with its spa-like scents (hi, lavender and tonka 👋🏻) and moisturizing ingredients (bonjour, cocoa butter and almond oil).

    The black tub of lotion

    Lush

Promising review: "I love this cream dearly. I have so much trouble sleeping due to stress and anxiety. But, I think I may have Pavlov's-dogged myself with this lotion. Whenever I put on Sleepy, the lavender and tonka scent immediately relaxes my body. It has gotten to the point where I use the Sleepy bath bomb or shower gel before bed to prep myself mentally and physically for bed. I'm even considering the Sleepy spray (though its a bit above my budget). The lotion itself is very moisturizing; I never fail to wake up with soft and hydrated skin (especially important during the cooler and drier seasons)." —Princess Jo

Get it from Lush for $12.95+ (available in three sizes).

    14. A body pillow that's *technically* made for pregnant people but just as suitable for side sleepers and those with a variety of aches and pains.

A model using the body pillow in purple grey
    Amazon

Promising review: "OMG!! This is THE BEST pillow ever! I am not pregnant, but I have a plethora of back problems and thought this might help me sleep better. Just the comfort and the way you can lay just about any way with ease is so very helpful. I have only owned this pillow for three hours and had a quick nap, and had to come write a review (which I hardly ever do). So, if you have back, hip, leg or neck problems, you should definitely try this out. Thank you to whomever created this delight!!" —You Wish Louise

Get it from Amazon for $39.99+ (available in two sizes and colors).

a grey throw and white throw on a bed
    Mulin Comfort

Muslin Comfort is a woman-owned small business based in California.

    16. An affordable weighted blanket sure to help you fall asleep and — much more importantly — stay asleep with its calming, hug-like embrace.

A folded blanket in striped white/grey
    a reviewer's pink blanket

I have bad anxiety that loves to rear its head in the middle of the night but I was skeptical a weighted blanket could really do much to help. Boy, let me tell you I was WRONG. It takes some getting used to, but after a few nights, I couldn't sleep without it. There's just something about having some extra weight on you — it's like having your cat or dog lay on your stomach when they know you don't feel well. I feel like I'm not doing a good job describing what it's like, but TL;DR: If my house were burning down and I only had time to save one thing (other than my pets, obvi) I would drag this thing to safety.

Promising review: "I stalked my delivery man for hours before this came, it came very fast. as soon as I got it I ripped open the package and brought it straight to my room. Oh my GOD is this blanket amazing. I got the 20-pound one it feels like I’m being swaddled like the perfect baby I am hehe. I have bad anxiety and I can never sleep. As soon as I got it I took a long nap and woke up hours later. I never even napped after finals in college, this knocked me right out. I will say it’s not very cooling, however I am always hot even if I sleep with no blanket at all. I highly recommend this blanket. I had looked at like 70 of them before getting this one. My bed is a full and it fits perfectly. Even my dog approves!!! :)" —Ceci

Get it from Amazon for $59.99+ (available in 14 sizes/weights and 21 colors/patterns).

The bath bombs in their blue packaging
a model holding the bath bomb in their hand
    Happy Dance, Happy Dance

I personally use these and I really love them. I'm a big fan of bath bombs (all scents and shapes) and these are some of my fave! First, I love the break-apart design that means I get four uses out of every pack. Second, the fizz and scent is just so refreshing. Lastly — and maybe this is just a *me* thing — but they don't leave any weird residue. I feel soft but not greasy and that is my preferred state lol.

Promising review: "The first time I used this bath bomb I used two. I was watching That's So Raven while eating popcorn and drinking a glass of wine. I felt sooo relaxed that I almost fell asleep in the bath tub. I recently have been using only one cube and it doesn't seem to have the same effect so I might have to go back to using two. I only wish the cubes were bigger or came with more." —Dogmama

    Get a four-pack from Ulta for $15.

    19. A pillow-top mattress pad that you can sink into like you're in a slo-mo mattress commercial. Just don't go trying to balance a glass of red wine on it, OK?

A reviewer's photo which shows the loft of the mattress topper
A reviewer showing how squishy the mattress topper is by pressing down on it

The breathable, deep-pocket topper hugs your mattress like a fitted sheet, so you don't have to worry about it popping off in the middle of the night. Plus — major plus — it's machine washable, so you don't have to drag it to the dry cleaners.

Promising review: "Whoaaa this thing is amazing. I have a very expensive, firm mattress, that I bought when I was younger. The mattress is still in good shape so I didn’t want to get rid of it. The firm thing just wasn’t working for me anymore. I had a foam mat but it still was too hard. So I got this, put this over the foam mat and it’s like a new mattress. I slept like a rock last night. Haven’t slept that good in a long time. I also like that it’s attached to the mattress pad, so it’s not sliding al over. It slept very cool, I’m assuming that’s because is cotton. Highly recommend if you’re looking to fix a mattress and not have to spend money on a new one." —Julie

    the sheet set in wine

Looma's sheets and duvet cover (coupled with Slumber Cloud's Lightweight Comforter) have dramatically improved my ability to temp-regulate. And the colors are beautiful — I got the Forest- and Wine-colored sheet sets (which were true to the pictures on the website), and the Navy duvet cover. I had a question about when certain colors would be back in stock, and the customer service couldn't have been lovelier. They even emailed me when things were back in stock to let me know!" —Sarah C.

Get them from Looma for $188+ (available in sizes Twin XL–Split King and six colors).

A hand holding the spray which comes in a white bottle
    This Works

Promising review: "I absolutely had to write this review on the off chance that it might help a fellow insomniac. I am in my early forties and have suffered terribly from insomnia since my early twenties. I just can't turn my head off at night and fall asleep. If I'm lucky and take my meds, I might be fortunate enough to sleep for maybe four hours, and that's intermittently. I still constantly wake up and it takes me forever to fall back asleep, if I'm lucky enough to even fall back asleep. When I do sleep, it's very lightly; I never reach that wonderful deep-sleep stage. So basically I feel awful and am tired all the time. I have used other pillow sprays and they were just a joke and a waste of my money. The first night I used, I fell asleep within minutes AND DID NOT WAKE UP OR MOVE A MUSCLE ALL NIGHT. I slept for eight hours straight and woke up feeling amazing because I was so rested and refreshed. I was obviously thrilled but figured it was probably just a fluke. I have been using this every night for over a week now and I sleep like a baby every single night. I have literally cried tears of joy at the relief I feel of finally being able to sleep like a normal person." —Ulta Customer

Get it from Ulta Beauty or from Amazon for $29.

    23. A four-pack of smart, dimmable light bulbs so you don't have to climb out of bed and hit the light switch when you're ready to get some shut-eye. You can also set the perfect ~sleep mood~ by programming them to your favorite color.

A pack of four multicolor/white light bulbs
a reviewer's table lamp with the color-changing smart bulb

Turning them on/off is super simple: use the Smart Life app on your phone, or connect them to your Alexa or Google Home speaker for completely hands-off functionality. If you know you always fall asleep or wake at the same time, you can even set them to turn on/off based on your routine.

Promising review: "Great product. Works great with Alexa. The process of registering with the manufacturer's website was really the most complicated part of the process, but worth the hassle once we got them working. The colors these lights can produce is awesome. I simply like the hands free option of asking Alexa to turn the lights on and off. It's great when I am tired from reading and I can just roll over and go to sleep. Very pleased with this purchase." —Candy N.

    24. A set of noise-cancelling earplugs ready to block out whatever nighttime noises plague you, be it honking traffic, boisterous neighbors, or your partner's snoring.

reviewer wearing a blue ear plug
different reviewer holding the pack of ear plugs in their hand

Promising review: "After inserting the earplugs and allowing them to adjust, silence befell my bedroom. I was able to sleep free from the obnoxious noises that surround my apartment. My only complaint is perhaps these earplugs work a little too well. I missed my alarm...by an hour and a half. For a full 90 minutes my phone alarm was ring-dingling away and the earplugs blocked every bit of noise. After the initial panic of being late for work wore off, I was slightly amused that my neighbors had to listen to my alarm while I, for once, slept through their douchebaggery. These will be the only earplugs I wear from now on. And I'm considering a louder alarm, so suggestions would be helpful." —Alex Prior

Get a pack of four from Amazon for $12.99 (available in four colors).

    25. A set of sleep patches if you've tried EVERYTHING short of slapping some all-natural Zzz-promoting ingredients like melatonin, magnesium, and valerian root right on your wrist.

Promising review: "I initially found this patch from people doing TikTok videos and was skeptical. I have to say that they have really been working after using for just two days. I washed my wrist, let it dry, and then applied the patch about an hour before bed. I did not lie awake for an extended amount of time like I usually do nor have I gotten up in the middle of night, which is pretty common as well. Nothing works for everyone however, if you struggle with getting to sleep and/or staying asleep these are well worth a try. Working for me." —CC Renae

Promising review: "So look...we get to a certain stage in life where sleeping isn't always easy, no matter how tired we are. We are hot and sweaty, everything is itchy, we have insomnia...I was looking for a just right nightgown and I've finally found it! This gown is INCREDIBLE! A relaxed fit but not over size arm holes that would expose you, long enough that you could actually answer the door or wear to the pool, etc ... and SO SO SOFT! The bamboo helps keep you cool and comfortable all night long. For sure my new favorite and I'll need a long sleeve one for winter." —Myranda Dixon

Get it from Amazon for $23.99+ (available in women's sizes S–4X and in 37 colors).

    28. A pair of blue-light-blocking glasses because try as you might, giving up TV/phone time a full hour before bed just isn't in the cards for you. Instead, these chic glasses can help prevent headaches and get you off to bed faster by blocking any rays your devices shadily give off.

    Diff Eyewear

Promising review: "I am in love with my blue-light-blocking glasses! Not only do they reduce my headaches and keep my eyes from going numb after staring at a computer screen for so long, but they actually help me get sleepy while laying in bed watching Netflix! I used to stay awake for at least an hour after shutting it off at night and now I start dozing off while I’m still watching. Plus I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them. :) Highly recommend!" —Alicia H.

Get them from Diff Eyewear for $85 (available in 13 colors).

Promising reviews: "Love the nonglare screen and back light that you can dim in the evenings and take out the blue-light spectrum so it doesn’t interfere with sleep. Sure beats having to put a clip light on it." —Lori

"I read each night before going to sleep. My reading light is set on a timer and if the light goes out the illuminated screen allows me to finish reading until I fall asleep. This kindle turns itself off automatically. I couldn’t be any happier with this product. Thank you!" —Edward C Roberson

    30. A whisper-quiet humidifier that — while not the ~sexiest~ purchase — will moisturize the air so you can breathe easier.

The compact, 1.5-liter appliance can operate for 16 continuous hours and an optional night light makes it even more bedroom friendly.

Promising review: "I didn't realize how much moisture I was losing from my skin until I received this humidifier. I can actually breathe at night; where I live the temperature fluctuates on a daily basis...example: one day 45 degrees Fahrenheit and the next 70 degrees Fahrenheit. My eyes were getting very dry from working on the computer and since I have added a humidifier in my bedroom and office I haven't had nearly the issues I was having before: I sleep better, my eyes aren't nearly as red as before, and my seasonal allergies do not leave me debilitated due to weather fluctuations. This device is easy to setup and use right out of the box and does not use much electrical energy. Thank you for making a humidifier that is cost effective, elegant, and practical." —A_V

    31. A Himalayan salt lamp to replace your plug-in night-light that you foolishly threw away in high school because it wasn't "cool" or "adult" enough.

The hand-carved lamp (controlled via a 6-foot dimmer cord) gives off a tranquil amber glow that's said to "infuse a natural calm."

Promising review: "I love this! It’s beautiful and helping me sleep better at night. I like the dimmer switch because it allows me to turn it very low at nighttime because I like to sleep in a very dark room, so it does not affect my ability to fall asleep. I feel that in my home I’m breathing so much better. I work out in my home and I put a lamp in that room and I noticed that I breathe easier while exercising. I am going to have one of these in every room in my home and I recommend you do the same. It was also delivered quickly, packaged great, and it looked even better than I thought it would look for the price. Great product will order more!" —LisaB31

Also I'm a hot sleeper and it has also helped keep me a bit cooler as well. I don't feel like my facial moisturizer is being absorbed into the case either. Win/win!." —Heidi
