Why Did You Go To An HBCU?

We wanna know.

Hey, everyone! I'm Chelsea — I went to an HBCU, too.

Happy 130th birthday to my alma mater #FAMU! #FAMUmade #womenofFAMU #RattlerPride 🐍💚

For anyone unfamiliar, an HBCU is a historically Black college and university. You can read more about them here.

Attending an HBCU was something I'd wanted to do since I was a teenager, going on college tours with my family and different organizations in which I was involved. Ultimately, I went to Florida A&M University, which, 10 out of 10! Would recommend the HBCU experience to anyone!

There were a lot of reasons as to why I wanted to attend an HBCU: the history, the academic programs, cultural aspects, and homecoming!!!!!

But this isn't about me — I want to know what made you choose an HBCU. How was your experience? What were the benefits? How has it shaped the person you are today?
