Greta Gerwig Said The Possibility Of A "Barbie" Sequel Is "Totally Zero", And She Explained Why

Barbie has been HUGE since it opened last weekend. Now, film director Greta Gerwig is opening up about a possible sequel.

Greta Gerwig probably won't be returning to Barbie Land anytime soon.

Asked by The New York Times about a potential Barbie sequel, the film director admitted it's not something she currently has on her mind.

"At this moment, it's all I've got," Greta shared. "I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I'll never have another idea and everything I've ever wanted to do, I did."

Greta went on to say that she "wouldn't want to squash anybody else's dream, but for me, at this moment, I'm at totally zero."

But just because Greta has ruled it out now doesn't mean it can't happen. As film star and producer Margot Robbie told Time last month: "[The story] could go a million different directions from this point."

Margot also noted that she'd already been in talks about a potential Barbie 2, but nothing had been set in stone yet.

We'll see what happens with that! In the meantime, check out Barbie now in theaters.
