Why Do You Use Birth Control?

If you're someone who uses birth control, chances are you have a very good reason (or several reasons) for using it.

Having control over your reproductive health is a big one, but it's certainly not the only one.

That's because birth control is not one-size-fits-all. There is no one method that's perfect for everyone, and there's no one reason to take it.

Your reason for using birth control may change over time, and as it does, your birth control method may change with it. Plus, the method you like may not like you back (hello, side effects), so it's a good thing there are a multitude of options to choose from. It's all about finding what's best for your body, your situation, and your life.

So we want to know: Why do you use birth control?

Maybe you take the pill to regulate your periods or treat your acne.

And knowing that you won't get pregnant anytime soon is really just an added bonus.

Or maybe hormonal birth control helps to treat a serious, life-altering disorder like endometriosis or PCOS.

For many people, regulating your cycle with hormonal contraception can reduce symptoms.

Maybe you use condoms because avoiding pregnancy and STIs are both top-of-mind for you right now.

Or maybe birth control lets you work your ass off on all the things you want to accomplish before you start a family.
