In a survey of women from the U.K., only half of the women between the ages of 26 and 35 could correctly label the vagina on a simple diagram. And according to the same survey, 65% of the women were uncomfortable saying the words "vagina" and "vulva." Fortunately for you, we have no such qualms.

5. The Colombia women’s cycling team stepped out in uniforms that looked a whole lot like they were showing off their vaginas.

I'm no fashion expert but even I know that the Colombia women's cycling team kit seen here is a genuine disaster

11. New research shows that the G-spot may be more complicated than we thought.

Instead of one specific spot, researchers have proposed the clitourethrovaginal (CUV) complex, which explains how multiple areas are stimulated at once to result in vaginal orgasms.

12. Shailene Woodley told Into the Gloss that she makes sure her vagina gets ample vitamin D.

And yes, she means sun. "If you’re feeling depleted, go in the sun for an hour and see how much energy you get," she told the site. "Or, if you live in a place that has heavy winters, when the sun finally comes out, spread your legs and get some sunshine." This is not based in any actual science, for the record.

15. Speaking of weed, a marijuana-infused lube was created to get your vagina high.

According to a few reviews, it actually can make sex more intense without giving you a mental high. As one reviewer put it, "Like my vagina was kicking back on the beach in Mexico, without a care in the world."

16. A urogynecologist developed a fancy new vibrator that uses low-level laser therapy to boost vaginal blood flow and arousal.

It's called the Afterglow Intimate Massager, and it's available for $199, which seems pricey until you remember it's literally bringing pulsating lasers to your vag.

19. Shonda Rhimes mentioned her vagina while accepting an award at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment breakfast.

"I was born with a really awesome vagina, and I have really gorgeous brown skin."

Be sure to watch the full speech where she discusses breaking through glass ceilings in Hollywood in 2014. Her shout-out to her vagina (while awesome) isn't even the best part.

20. And Cameron Diaz encouraged women to get all up in there so they can get to know their privates.

"We think the vagina is on the outside. I say grab a mirror and play along. Get in there," she said on Chelsea Lately. "Learn about it. You're supposed to treat it like the beautiful flower that is, the delicate flower that it is. And you're supposed to nurture it in all the ways that it needs nurturing."

They did...all right.

Thanks, science!

But the real founder of Sweet Peach — a 20-year-old woman named Audrey Hutchinson — came forward to clear it up. The budding company would actually design custom probiotics tailored to your unique vaginal microbiome, Hutchinson explained in an interview with Inc.

27. One brave writer volunteered her vagina for an experiment in arousal for an article in the December 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan.

Using a small glass probe called a photoplethysmograph, they measured her genital responses to certain situations to see how turned on she got by different things — and if that differed from what she said she was turned on by. (It did, sometimes.)

28. Generic versions of Plan B went over-the-counter, making it way cheaper to deal with a birth control fail.

(Like when the condom slips off and takes up residence in your vagina, because that happens, OK?)

29. Meanwhile, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended long-acting birth control methods like the IUD and implant as the best choices for teenagers to prevent pregnancy.

While they don't protect against STDs, these options are the most effective at preventing pregnancy (other than abstinence and sterilization).

30. A New York City salon debuted a vagina facial.

They call it "Gommage Therapy," and the fact that you have to call for details makes this seem like the speakeasy of vagina treatments.
