If you could only describe dogs by comparing them to music, the standard poodle would definitely be a capella.

1. Chesapeake Bay Retriever = Punk

Intense, temperamental, mischievous and rowdy. These dogs make their own way in life. They're tough and independent and jump chest first into solid ice for a living. Punk rock man.

Don't mistake them for Chocolate Labs. These dogs are not overly friendly, have a mind of their own, and will definitely not give a damn about you from time to time.

Reggae is the chillest of the chill with the best vibes out there. Komondoraks (yes that's actually their proper plural) are sheepdogs from Hungary, who guarded their flocks with peace, love, & understanding.

Today they're great family dogs with strong protective instincts, just defending the good in the world and like, just being with the people they love because that's what matters in life.

Though not a Reggae artist, but still offering good vibes, the Komondor makes the cover of Beck's album "Odelay."

3. Labrador Retriever = Alternative Rock

A classic breed through the ages, and a little bit of something for everyone. These are America's beloved! One of the most popular breeds in the whole nation to go with one of the most popular music genres.

Labradors: Consistent and relatively predictable. Easy to find if you want to buy/adopt. You see them often while walking down the street, in a public park, portrayed in movies, in commercials, etc. You pet the cute ones and walk away from the crazy ones.

4. Chow Chow = Metal

Is this a lion, bear, or dog? Who can say, really? My money is on a mix of the three.

The Chow is one of America's most dangerous dog breeds. They aren't good with kids or strangers, they're territorial, and can be very aggressive if not socialized well. Sounds like a metalhead to me! (JK, I love metal, don't kill me)

Their physique is quite fitting too. They have a beautiful mane of hair just begging to be shown off with some slo-mo headbanging. They sport a black tongue and two extra teeth to destroy the world with.

Come on man, black tongues! Savage!

5. Siberian Husky = Indie

Huskies, like indie music, have become more popular over the years. These are the dogs everyone starts to obsess over when they want to be "different."

See, you think of one of two things when you think of Huskies:

1) That annoying girl you know who takes pictures of her bare feet by the edges of bodies of water, loves the fall, brags about her husky and how she had one before they were popular and how much she loves the outdoors while holding her iPhone & latte from Starbucks.

2) Actually fantastically gorgeous and powerful dogs with the most striking blue eyes and soft coat with really intelligent brains who dig cute little holes in the snow to keep warm and once saved the entire state of Alaska!

Indie music is actually really really good music, with some really talented people behind the genius sounds and vocals who are really gifted visionaries. But then there's always that one kid who wears hot pink and black striped fingerless gloves who has to remind you they liked it before you. You gotta take the good with the bad.

6. Pomeranian = Pop

Pop music's generally upbeat tunes make you wanna sing, be happy, go out on the town, get hammered, dance like you own the place, you know - have fun!

Pomeranians are happy go lucky little dogs with big personalities. They're energetic and constantly demand pampering and attention. They can be pretty yappy and sometimes downright annoying, but all in an "I'm so cute, hehe" kinda way. They're bouncy and vivacious little floofs: cute, fun, and happy. They also have great hair.

They are Pop music embodied!

7. The Chinese Crested = Disco

The crested is a… well, an unusual breed. A lot of people see these dogs on the streets and find themselves saying "What the heck is that?"

Similar statements have been made watching their parents dance the Disco.

Classical music comes in many great varieties, but always maintains the timeless traits of fluidity and grandeur. It's a unique genre to listen to as it is usually complex and multi-layered. It is admired as a timeless symbol of class and intelligence.

Okay so first of all, it's impossible to overlook the fact that there is literally a rapper named Pitbull.

But ACTUALLY, the real reason for this one is because pitties get a tough wrap. Though they've got a fan base, they're generally still seen as America's bad boys. But they can be so sweet and gentle, really love their family, and be just as silly as the rest. Did you know they were once called the "Nanny" dog, because they are so gentle and loving towards babies?

Rap also gets a bad wrap (Heh).

Sure, some artists are all guns and drugs and violence about it. And hey, sometimes that's cool. Sometimes in sketchy parts of town, it's kinda nice that your Pit Bull looks intimidating. But some rap artists are talented individuals with good things to say, and some good beats!
