Oh, yes. We were once like you. Floating through life, willy-nilly, oblivious that some invisible number was lurking right there with us every step of the way.
1. Not realizing that this seemingly harmless number might one day determine whether we could finally get off our parents' phone plan and open our own.
2. Not considering the fact that canceling our credit cards could actually hurt our score.
3. And despite the fact that keeping a close eye may improve our credit score, we thought, Eh, this'll probably all work itself out.
4. Or, Maybe I should buy this 24-pack of selfie sticks, just in case, instead of making sure we could pay off our credit card balance every month in full.
5. But then again, we knew that nobody ever looks at their credit report. Why would you? Just because you might realize it has a mistake the day you're trying to buy your first car?
6. So we beat on, boats against the current, yaaass'ing and slay queen'ing our way through life, as that Big Unknown Score just kept creeping unseen in our periphery.
7. That is, until we needed it most. Which was basically every major step we took in life.
8. That's right, folks. Turns out you actually need these things. They might even be the reason you get a date.
11. If only we'd known credit scores are constantly changing, we would have checked ours a lot sooner.
