    What's In Your Pants?

A transman answers the questions you're afraid to ask.

    Hi there!

    You! Yes, you!

Have you ever wondered what a transgender guy dreams about? What he really wished his body looked like? What's in his pants? Fear not! I'm here to answer your questions. Here's what you probably want to know... or, at least, what you should know.

Did you always know you wanted to be male?

Kind of? I grew up as a really big tomboy, but never really learned what it meant to be transgender until I was in college. I'm sure if I had received proper education when I was younger, things would have made sense earlier in life, but that's the way the cookie crumbled.

I always played the role of "Dad" or "Brother" when my friends and I would play House and none of the other kids really questioned it. It wasn't until my sophomore year of college that I was introduced to a few transgender folks and things clicked. I knew right then and there that I was transgender and began doing research into hormone replacement therapy and living life in my preferred gender.

    Have you had "The Surgery"?

So... what's in your pants, then?

There's a vagina down there. I don't pack with a prosthetic penis because it's uncomfortable and makes me look like I'm constantly aroused, and also because no one should be looking down there in the first place.

Are you gay? Are you a lesbian? Are you straight? WHO DO YOU LOVE?

Okay, but, the media told me transgender people are pedophiles/perverts/deviants/horrible miscreants!

Yo. If people are horrible people, then they're horrible people. Transgender folks are just trying to live their lives in peace. We're not asking for special rights or privileges. We'd just like, you know, the same rights as everyone else.

Do you think you'll regret your transition?

Nope. But I'll probably regret some of the tattoos I didn't have to spend two years in therapy to receive.
