Show Love And Support For J.J. Watt By Supporting His Foundation

The Texans lost their pro defensive end due to a fractured tibial plateau in his left leg. Pick up where J.J. left off by supporting his foundation, which focuses on providing and supporting extracurricular activities for middle-school aged children.

NRG Stadium, Houston, TX - 10/9/17.

Texans pro defensive end J.J. Watt leaves the game against Kansas City. The injury occurred after Watt fell to the ground after blocking on a play. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and was diagnosed with a tibial plateau fracture to his left leg. This is a devastating blow for J.J. as the tibial plateau is a major load bearing part of the knee, where the femur rests on top of the tibia - creating the joint. It is unknown how long J.J. will be out of commission, but tibial fractures have been known to take three or four months (and possibly a lot more, depending on how serious the fracture is) to heal properly. There's not much we can do to show our love and support for J.J. as he goes through the medical process, but we can show our support by helping his foundation.

    The J.J. Watt Foundation

The mission of the J.J. Watt Foundation is to "provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance..."

Essentially, they provide funding for schools and programs in need of help to support our youth with productive extracurricular activities, including uniforms and other essential gear.

The foundation has funded $3,475,000 to 6th-8th grade athletic programs so far.

    Other Fundraising Efforts

After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, J.J. used his foundation, and other outlets to draw support and funding for hurricane victims. With an initial goal of $200,000, Watt greatly surpassed that with the final numbers over $37 million.

Watt was quoted saying "When times are toughest, humanity stands at its strongest and you have all helped to prove that emphatically."

Well, we're still here big guy.
