65% of survey respondents said that they use apps in the hopes of meeting a long-term partner, while almost the same amount (64%) of Europeans said that they use them to meet people they'd otherwise not have met. Less than half of respondents (43%) said that they use apps to hook up.

Contrary to what you may have heard recently, love is _not_ blind according to the 2020 Bumble dating trends survey. 73% of respondents said they were looking for someone they're attracted to when asked to say what they're looking for in a partner. Other popular answers were "someone who shares my values" (61%) and "someone with a similar and/or complementary personality" (53%). Only 4% of respondents said they were looking for someone with a compatible star sign.

It's official — the Germans love emojis! 91% of respondents from the country said that they use emojis when texting someone that they fancy. The country least likely to use emojis? The UK! Only 70% of respondents were big in the emoji game there.

90% of Europeans said they'd be happy to admit that they met a date online!

The Netherlands came in a close second with 90% of respondents saying they were happy to discuss sexual preferences openly, while 89% of people from the UK said the same. The country least open to discussing their sexual preferences was France, with only 70% of French respondents agreeing with the statement.

Yep! The majority of people want to know who they're meeting. A further 82% of people said that they check for photo verification when they are speaking to someone on a dating app.

77% of UK respondents said they'd also been a victim of ghosting, while only 57% of Spanish respondents said that it had happened to them. Maybe it's time to move?

Only 25% of respondents said that they felt pressure to settle down and get married.
