30 Splurge-Worthy Things You Won't Want To Travel Without Once You Try Them

Once you try luggage that charges your phone, you'll never go back.

    1. A pair of ultra-comfy Allbirds sneakers to wear on that walking tour you signed up for without realizing it was scheduled to last six hours. 😬 They're designed to be flexible so they move with you, and on hot daysk, you'll appreciate that they're made of breathable eucalyptus-fiber.

P.S. They can be tossed in the washing machine when they start to get smelly, and they're made with renewable materials! ♻️

Promising review: "Just spent a week in Paris, and these were the most comfortable shoes for hours of sightseeing and trekking around the city every day! My feet were happy, and they looked so cute with jeans and casual skirts, and were easy to keep clean, too. My new favorite shoes!" —Jessica G.

Get it from Allbirds for $105 (available in women's sizes 5-11 and in 11 colors).

    2. A cool set of Bala Bangles for anyone who wants to get some exercise in on their trip. The lightest ones weigh just one pound each, so they won't add too much heft to your suitcase — just slip 'em onto your wrists or ankles when you want to add a little resistance to your walk or hike.

Promising review: "Genius and worth every penny. Bala Bangles has truly reinvented the wrist/ankle weight — and I am actually not embarrassed to wear these in public. In fact, I get stopped at every workout class I attend (yoga/pilates) wanting to know where I purchased these from. Bala is comfortable throughout the workout and actually intensifies it as well — I thought, one pound, no way will I truly be able to tell the difference...WRONG. I often have to take these off halfway into my class because it's that much more challenging. I also travel a ton for work, and these are easily packable and great to utilize in my hotel room/gym if I can't make it to a workout class. This is now my second color I have purchased and could not be happier with the product. How someone did not think of this sooner I will never know...But I am glad because Bala Bangles did it right. I highly recommend this product to any and everyone." —Jules

    3. Supergoop's (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder with SPF 35, because reapplying sunscreen is important if you're going to be out and about! What's great about this is that it acts like a setting powder, aka you can brush it on over makeup throughout the day without ruining your look. Plus, it's not liquid, so TSA-friendly!

Pro-tip: If you part your hair, brush some onto the exposed scalp — it'll protect the skin and help absorb excess oils!

Promising review: "Purchased this product for my wedding — knew I would have professional makeup done and that we would be taking photos outside. I have very fair skin and burn very easily, so I knew I needed some sort of SPF protection. This was perfect to brush over my face, neck, and shoulders before photos, and I was completely protected from the sun! Highly recommend!" —Jennyg788

Get it from Amazon for $30 (available in three shades) or Sephora for $30 (available in four shades).

    4. A pair of Apple AirPods Pro with noise cancellation to keep you from losing your mind every time your flight neighbor alternates between chomping down on pretzels and snoring. They come with three sizes of silicone tips to comfortably fit your ears and a charging case that provides more than 24 hours of listening time.

Promising review: "I’m thrilled. I love the fact there’s multiple ear tips, and the small ones fit my ears great. Thrilled with the noise-canceling feature while I stare at a family member yapping loudly on the phone, and I don’t have to crank my volume up to drown them out. The controls are easy. It pauses music when I take an earbud out, so I’m not fumbling to pause and then yanking an earbud out while yelling, 'what?' I’ve never spent this much on headphones, but these are worth the sub-$200 I paid." —Pixie

And here's more from BuzzFeed Shopping editor Emma Lord: "I have a pair of these, and they're not playing around. Once they're securely in your ear, you can toggle the headphones between noise-canceling and regular sound, depending on your situation. I've been working from home, and the noise canceling is so effective that I can work next to a window where my neighbor is doing heavy construction and I don't hear anything louder than a faint buzzing. It's quieter than if I'd just plugged my ears with my own fingers. I'm also a runner, and these don't budge when you're sweating, which is nice. It's also handy that these toggle out of noise cancelation mode, because I feel better being able to hear traffic and other people around me when I'm out and about. The TL;DR is: I love these so much I have zero interest in owning another pair of headphones for as long as I live." Read her full review of the AirPod Pros here!

    5. And, an AirFly Pro wireless transmitter so you can connect your new favorite earbuds to the plane's entertainment system. Who cares if you've seen You've Got Mail upward of 50 times, that piece of cinematic gold deserves better than those flimsy airline-distributed headphones.

Just plug it into the headphone jack to hear Meg Ryan say, "That caviar is a garnish!" the way it was meant to be heard. You can also connect up to two pairs of earbuds at a time, and it has 16+ hours of battery life for suuuper long flights.

Promising review: "Ever since I purchased my wireless Bose earbuds, I always hated having to use another set when I was on an airplane with the seat-back entertainment system. I tried many different models to connect the system to my Bluetooth headsets until I came across this one, and it is amazing! It seamlessly connects to my headset, very clear and reliable audio, and it takes the stress away from having to carry multiple headsets! Thank you!!!" —Ryan Malloy

Promising review: "What a perfect gadget for getting your phone clean. Promising review: "I fly a lot and am constantly trying to find a hoodie with a big hood to cover my eyes so I can catch up on some beauty sleep on flights. I saw this product on Instagram and knew it would be a game changer. I was able to use it recently for the first time on an early-morning flight, and let me tell you, it is EVERYTHING I was looking for and more. It’s comfy, cozy, oversized, and the eye covers make you feel like you’re in a whole other world and not packed like a sardine on a plane. My over ear headphone fit perfectly under it and I got the best sleep I’ve had on a plane — EVER! Like other reviews have said, it is big, so size down if you want something a little more snug. I have been wearing it every day at home and can’t wait to get the black and blush ones!" —Heather G.

Promising review: "I have been wearing Docs for years now, and this pair has to take first place for comfort. They're incredibly cute and versatile, can be dressed up or down, and just like any other pair are faithfully durable. Docs always run big, so I sized a full size down and still comfortably wear them with thin-thick socks. I brought them on a long trip, wore them in various weather conditions like rain/snow/forest trails, and they worked great." —Stacy Cruz

Promising review: "THIS BOOT ROCKS. If you are contemplating and they have your size, you better buy it! They add such a cool edge to all my outfits! Not to mention, these boots are by far the most comfy shoes I own. I walked all over Universal Studios for eight hours and no blisters. I also wore them to a concert the night before and was standing the entire time. Yet, still no pain (I’m not Dr. Scholl, but legit these boots are so comfy). 14. A pair of soft joggers, which will quickly become your go-to airplane pants once you see how comfy and low maintenance they are. I recently joined the 21st century and got my first pair of joggers (!), and they're this exact pair. I don't really know what I was thinking by holding off for so long — maybe I figured they would just be glorified sweatpants? — but I'm here to say that they have RUINED all other pants for me from here on out. They're comfy enough to wear as pajamas or around the house when I'm feeling lazy, but cute enough for me to wear out without feeling self-conscious about looking like someone who couldn't be bothered to look presentable. In fact, I even wore them on Thanksgiving last year (a drawstring waist = you can chow down and still be comfortable), and no one was the wiser.

I love that they're a little looser on top and tapered at the bottom, making them look way more elevated than my baggy college sweats, and the material is nice and soft while keeping me warm — I recently flew in them, and let's just say that frigid plane air is no match for these babies. There's not really much else to say about these pants other than, mark my words, I will be getting them in every color. If you're on the fence, hop right on off and get them stat! PS: They come with super-roomy pockets. 🙌

Promising review: "The most comfortable pants EVER. I adore these pants! I was worried they'd be too long on me (most pants usually are), but they fit just right. Love the stretchy waistband and how I can wear them while being cozy at home or run errands while looking semi-human. :)" —Miriam S.

Promising review: "I LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite! I recently upgraded from an old Kindle that didn't have a backlight, and what a difference. I really love being able to read in bed at night without needing to have a light on. The battery life is fantastic. The Kindle is great for travel, so you don't have to dedicate luggage space to multiple books, but also great for just keeping with you or having around the house. It's so lightweight and thin. I recommend for any avid reader!" —Marissa T

I could use it as a pillow, and then when I got cold, opened it, stuck my feet in, and snapped the snap...stuck my head though and slept for the first time EVER on a plane!! Then, when landing, easily stuffed it back into a pillow and snapped to onto my under seat bag, and off on my adventure I went!!!" —Stacy S.

Promising review: "I'm not a big perfume person, but as soon as I put this on, I could not stop smelling my wrist! It reminded me of classic sophistication, old Hollywood glamour. I think of Vivien Leigh, Audrey Hepburn, that silver screen class and sex appeal rolled into one. I immediately felt more attractive and confident. It lasted all day as well." —ElishevahM

There are also four USB ports, and it converts 220/240 V to 110/120 V.

Promising review: "Worked perfectly on a recent trip to England and France. I used it to power a MacBook Air, a Windows laptop, two iPhones, and two portable chargers. I like the design of the case. The form factor is so much sleeker than most of the other travel transformers available. One thing I didn't realize when I ordered it (because I was in a hurry and didn't read the specs thoroughly) is that this device has a fan to dissipate heat from stepping down the voltage. While the fan is not extremely loud, neither is it silent. I found it a pleasant source of white noise that actually helped me sleep at night, but you might not." —Lake Mist

Get it from Amazon for $37.98.
