36 Organization Tips To Help You Rein In The Chaos This Spring

    Unleash your inner Marie Kondo.

    1. Find furniture you *love* that doubles as storage. That way, you'll have a place to put all of those random things you use somewhat regularly rather than A. leaving them out for all to see, or B. throwing them in some unlabeled box in the basement and promptly forgetting about them.

    2. Store your jewelry on an actual jewelry holder to keep it from becoming one big tangled mass on your dresser (if it isn't already!). This wall-mounted one is lovely *and* has assorted rods and hooks to make sure all of those dainty chains you love wearing don't take an entire afternoon to unknot.

    3. Instantly tidy up your cupboards by filling them with food storage containers for a more cohesive, streamlined look. These come with labels so you'll stop mistaking your barley for farro once and for all, and not only are they great for organization and convenient browsing, they'll also help keep flour mites (yes, that's a thing) far, far away.

    4. Consider rolling up those tees in your ever-growing collection rather than folding them (or, more likely, shoving them into your dresser) so you'll be able to utilize this genius T-shirt roll holder that conveniently hangs on your door. Yes, you'll save a bunch of space in your drawers and closet, but you'll also stop panicking as you scramble to pick up strewn-about tees every time someone comes to visit.

    5. Think of the space under your bed as prime storage real estate, since no one but you is likely to look under there. That way, you can reserve closets and drawers for things you use often while giving more seasonal items an out-of-eyesight place to live. Winter boots, ILY but I'll see ya next year.

    6. And, don't forget to compress your clothes with some vacuum-seal bags to ensure you're making the most of every nook and cranny in your closet, storage container, or wherever you stash garments you won't be needing for a while. Plus, they make packing a suitcase SO much easier!

    7. Break down cleaning tasks room by room, rather than making one big general to-do list. This way, you can dedicate a different day to tidying up one room, which will feel far less daunting than staring at a huge list of tasks that you'll likely just end up feeling too overwhelmed to tackle. Plus, you'll be less likely to overlook something if you take the time to think about each room individually instead of your entire house as a whole.

    8. To, quite literally, keep your panties from getting in a twist, use some underwear organizers to overhaul your intimates drawer. You'll feel so satisfied every time you pull out your drawer and see your undies arranged in neat little rows, and wonder why you didn't purchase this sooner.

    9. Or, at the very least, fold your bra cups inside one another with the straps tucked inside, which will optimize drawer space. And, stacking your bras sideways lets you see them more clearly!

    10. When it comes to saving precious room, think ~up~. That's right, the ceiling is your friend when it comes to storage, since you likely won't be needing that space for anything else — gravity, baby!

    11. Change up the way you think about spare change with a spring-loaded coin organizer, aka a place to finally store all of that loose change that's...not the floor of your car. Now if only the same thing existed for drive-thru crumbs...

    12. Embrace over-the-door storage, like this versatile organizer that could likely work in any room in your house. Whether you use it for pantry items, cosmetics, or your Beanie Baby collection, it'll make use of space you'd never need for anything else (the ultimate goal!).

    13. And on that note, hang up an over-the-door ironing caddy so you'll finally have a place to store one of the most awkwardly shaped home essentials without taking up closet space.

    14. Annnnd, remember to utilize smaller doors to their full potential, too! Case in point: This cabinet door organizer was designed for keeping what can often be one of the most chaotic storage spaces in one's home looking perfectly put-together.

    15. I know it's tempting to just throw everything in, shut the door, and call it a day, but add some shelf dividers to your closet to keep it from becoming a linen nightmare! They'll separate the towels from the washcloths and the sheets from the quilts so you can feel a sense of satisfaction when you open the door and know *exactly* where the item you're looking for is.

    16. Remember that a simple wall can be your best friend when it comes to expanding your organizational capabilities. Using mounted storage holders is a great way to make the most of a less public-facing wall when floor space is at a minimum — and luckily, most of them are a cinch to install.

    17. And, to make the most of a small living space, opt for a multi-use wall shelf that'll allow you to store several things at the same time. For instance, this one comes with a mail compartment AND hangers for keys and coats, because slinging your jacket over a chair and flinging your mail onto a random surface in your home? No longer acceptable!

    18. Avoid unnecessarily taking up precious pantry real estate by using a tea organizer, because those seemingly-small boxes the bags come in start to take up space reeeeeally quickly. Plus, you'll be able to sort your teas by flavor thanks to the handy compartments.

    19. Whether you're WFH or going to the office, add a desk organizer to your workspace to keep all those pens, paper clips, and other bits and bobs neatly contained. They'll still be right within arm's reach when you need them, but without any distracting clutter.

    20. Invest in a nightstand for storing everything you often reach for in bed, which is likely on its way to becoming one big pile of books, cups, and remotes on your floor. Not only will it make your room look a lot neater, it'll also keep your nighttime essentials within easy reach!

    21. And if you're really pressed for space, opt for a bedside table that just hooks onto the side of your bed to create extra storage surface.

    22. Keep your tub looking less cluttered with a shower curtain liner complete with mesh pockets for storing hair products, soap, and anything else you like to use while you bathe. And along with making things look neater, it'll keep heavy bottles of conditioner falling from the (way too narrow) ledge and landing on your toe!

    23. Get creative when it comes to saving kitchen counter space so you'll have more room to actually cook! Look for products that'll allow you to store things in unconventional places, like under your cabinets.

    24. And on a similar note, keep your drawers from getting too crowded with this handy KitchenAid attachment organizer. Simply mount it under your cabinets or against a wall using the included screws or adhesive strips, and feel a sense of relief when you're able to open your drawers without them getting jammed.

    25. Keep all of those cords we apparently need for *everything* these days from winding their way all over every surface in your home with a set of adhesive cable clips. Just peel off the protective covering, stick to your desk, stick your cable in, and revel in the fact that you don't need to bend down to reach your charger every time your laptop yells, "FIVE PERCENT BATTERY!"

    26. If you haven't already, jump aboard the label train! From leftovers to boxes full of your first grade artwork, having a way to instantly tell what the contents of a container are from the outside will save *so* much time (and potentially prevent food poisoning!).

    27. It might seem a little niche, but start using a dedicated food container lid organizer, because if there's anything we can all agree on, it's that lids have a mysterious way of disappearing when they're just shoved into a drawer.

    28. And on a similar note, store the lids to your cookware separately. This way, you'll be able to stack your pots and pans on top of each other to save precious cabinet space — and by using a rack, you'll have a dedicated place for those lids rather than absentmindedly shoving them wherever they'll fit.

    29. Organize your closet by color so you won't have to shuffle through every. single. garment. to find the one you're looking for. Just target the color group it belongs to and be on your merry way!

    30. Keep your floors clear by using a shoe rack, which will have you crying "tiers" of joy once you see how neat it makes your seemingly endless footwear collection look. The multiple levels are great for utilizing vertical space that would otherwise be used for, well, nothing, and now you'll have more room for that cute area rug you've been eyeing.

    31. Arrange your spices in a way that actually allows you to see what they are, because cooking takes long enough as it is without having to pick up every jar in the back of your cabinet until you find the right one. I love this bleachers-style organizer, which takes all the guesswork out!

    32. Look for shelving that doubles as decor so you can stay organized while staying true to your aesthetic. Our eyes can easily glaze over after comparing ten plastic storage bins, but looking for pretty 2-in-1 pieces is more likely to keep us engaged and, in turn, more excited about organization!

    33. For a fridge that doesn't look like the condiment aisle just exploded in it, use see-through grocery organizers to keep those jars, bottles, and tubs looking nice and orderly. And aesthetics aside, they'll probably save you some money since you'll be less likely to forget about that container of yogurt rotting in the corner.

    34. Make use of seemingly wasteful floor space by turning it into a storage opportunity. For instance, my bathroom (below) has no medicine cabinet or counter space, so I got some fabric cube storage boxes to hide all of my extra skincare and beauty products under the sink. They pretty much doubled my storage space and don't take up any extra room!

    35. Take advantage of drawer organizers, because the little spaces deserve attention, too! For instance, a silverware sorter will keep your utensil drawer from resembling your junk drawer (if you must have one), and is way more effective than attempting to maintain order on your own.

    36. And last but certainly not least, instantly *double* your cabinet space with shelf risers so you'll finally have enough room for all of those mugs you keep acquiring. And this set is actually v pretty!
