7 Tips To Spring Clean Your Office Or Work-From-Home Space

March 20 is the official first day of spring, 2023. Here are a few tips to unleash that spring cleaning energy on your office space.

If you're a fellow eat-at-your-desk foodie, this cleaning task is a must-do. My personal fave is using compressed air spray to really get the hidden crumbs or dust out from under the keys.

2. Reorganize supplies and desk drawers

Cut the clutter that may have built up over the past few weeks...or months...or more...by using desktop organizers and cleaning out your desk drawers.

3. Wipe down your surfaces

If you're at an office job, chances are your desktop is one of the most-touched areas in your day. But how often are you actually cleaning it? The average desk has about 800 bacteria per inch. That's nearly 14 times more than an average office toilet seat - gag! - according to research from Charles Gerba. Give your space some TLC by unplugging your devices and wiping down surfaces with a disinfectant wipe.

4. Refresh your decor

Does your office need a bit of a facelift? Add some easy, affordable items to effortlessly zhoosh up your space: office chair lumbar pillow, plants, wall hangings, stylish mousepad, desktop lamp, chic wall calendar, funny computer sitter or new coffee mug.

5. Clean up your desktop folders and browser bookmarks

Spring cleaning is a good time to be honest with yourself and delete those 3-year-old webinars that, let's be real, you're never going to watch. Cleaning up old bookmarks and desktop files/folder that you're not regularly using not only creates more visual space on your screen, it also create more digital space on your machine.

6. Change your computer wallpaper
