"Yeah the Boys", a Facebook page that revolves around Aussie "bloke humour" and derogatory comments about women, is one of Australia's largest meme-based Facebook pages with almost half a million likes.
Recently, a Facebook event was created called "Yeah the Boys meetup", inviting all the page's members to meet at Coogee Beach in Sydney in late November.
Members from the group refer to women as "two-holes", both on the main page and on the event page.
In response, Australian woman Tilly Lawless posted in the "Yeah the Boys meetup" event to remind the men that in fact it's men, not women, who have "two holes".
The reaction to her comment was vicious.
"It's fucked," Tilly told BuzzFeed News. "I don't even have the energy to talk about it I'm copping so much abuse."
"The funny thing is, I wrote mine so calmly but they seem unable to stay calm. I don't mind you using screenshots of what I said and the comments in your article but I want to sign out so don't want to comment any further."
"I'm getting death and violence threats in the comments now too. I purely wrote it because I thought it was ironic that they thought their burn was so witty when in fact it was so incorrect that they not only looked like idiots but - the worst of all things to them - attracted to others like them."
