Woman Who Proved Her Haters Wrong Gets Surgery To Remove Excess Skin

Simone Anderson is a New Zealand woman who made headlines a few months ago for her dramatic weight loss.

Anderson weighed 168 kgs (372 pounds) before making a life decision to start taking control of her body. Her subsequent dramatic weight loss had many questioning the validity of her story, which she countered by uploading a photo of her excess skin.

Anderson has a thriving Facebook page and Instagram account, where she keeps a combined 150,000 people up to date on her weight loss journey.

Simone told BuzzFeed News that she still has people who don't believe her weight loss.

"I've actually still had people sharing my images with still hundreds of people in disbelief! I'm taking it as a compliment now that what I have achieved is so unbelieveable."

Overnight, Simone underwent surgery in America to remove her excess skin.

"Surgery was a breeze," says Simone. "Everything went so smoothly... the plan now is to rest up and recover and then fly home in ten days."

She has since uploaded video to her Instagram account of her mid-surgery. Warning, it's a bit graphic.

But this isn't the end of her surgery, with Simone telling BuzzFeed News she'll need to get her lower body excess skin fixed up at some point, too.
