Statement from @nzpolice about Grizz, the dog who died.

New Zealand Police were acting in a supporting role when airport staff and aviation security instructed them to shoot Grizz.

"Our thoughts are with the AVSEC dog handler involved," said inspector Tracy Phillips from the Counties Manukau District Police Force.

Waking up to the news that Grizz had been shot in the early hours of the morning, many questioned why the dog had to be shot at all and why a tranquilliser gun wasn't used.

why the fuck was a dog shot at auckland airport for delaying flights could they not have use a tranquilliser gun instead of murdering him

Everyone starting their Friday by waking up to the news that an Auck Airport Dog had to be shot dead. Happy Friday everyone!

Update: @AKL_Airport didn't want to wait any longer so shot the dog, who will they shoot the next time there is a delay?

But anyway, Auckland airport shot a working dog. I wonder if the handler had to give permission?
