Poor Lil Baby Australia Can’t Remember To Bring Bags To The Supermarket

    Guys, it's not that hard.

Supermarket giant Woolworths has done a full temporary 180 on its plastic bag ban after Australian customers struggled to come to terms with the fact that – yes – you would have to bring your own bag from now on.

The company had warned its customers months ahead of time that the change was coming, but when it came into full effect earlier this month it seems many Australians had not been paying attention.

@Coles is it true you have fallen for the idiot activists's conspiracy theory that soft plastic bags are dangerous and therefore need to be banned? Why do you hate Australia? Why do you want to go out of business? Does Soros hold a shorting position on your stock yet?

@braddybb Oh thank god. I keep on forgetting about the ban so this really benefits me

Conservative commentator Andrew Bolt took time to rant to his viewers about the negative impacts of reusable bags. For the record, plastic bags bring problems like the release of toxic chemicals, the fact they aren't recyclable, and the small little point that they cause LITERAL FLOODS.

Stores in Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Western Australia will offer free reusable plastic bags (usually 15 cents) to shoppers for the next 10 days, presumably in an effort to get people to actually use them and not get upset when the plastic bag ban returns on July 9.

On Friday, the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association even sent out a press release reminding people that Coles and Big W would be rolling out plastic bag bans in July, and that “there is no excuse for abusive behaviour to retail staff.”

“While we understand that some customers may be frustrated by this change, there is absolutely no excuse for abusive or violent behaviour towards retail staff,” said SDA national secretary Gerard Dwyer.

Plenty of people are a bit over all of this plastic bag drama, to be honest.

The mindless (and stupid) whinging about Woolies banning plastic bags is symptomatic of why we can't have nice things

Is there anything more peak modern Australia than loads of people getting really, really upset and angry about shops not offering plastic bags anymore?

*whispers* but but plastic bags have been phased out in south australia, act, and tasmania for years without nation-wide fanfare so can nsw and vic pls take a chill pill? kthanxbye

Rival supermarket giant Coles will be enforcing its own plastic bag ban this Sunday. So take this as a warning, folks.
