Earlier this year an image went viral showing a dead shark and a dingo, and two snakes having sex.
It was (obviously) fake, but that didn't stop it from spreading all over the place.
Facebook, Twitter, YouTube – the pic was popping up everywhere.
And while the heat has long since died down on the initial interest in the picture, Japanese social media has now discovered it. And folks, it's ... interesting.
It was all kicked off by one person photoshopping a capybara – the world's largest rodent – into the shot. What followed were dozens of bizarre attempts at one-upping the original photo (pretty hard to do when you consider it involves a dingo hanging over the dead body of a shark while two snakes have sex on the road.)
There have been polar bears...
Pokémon...
Nothing.
A raccoon catching a bug.
And a surfer.
All up, there have been well over 100,000 retweets and the Japanese content machine is still pumping them out.
But the sad truth is that never – ever ever – has there been a dingo hanging over a dead shark while two snakes have sex, all while a polar bear, or a raccoon, or surfer, watches on. It has...not happened.
