Human Remains Found Inside Crocodile Are Believed To Be Those Of A 79-Year-Old Woman

Anne Cameron went missing from her aged care home last week.

Queensland Police announced on Tuesday that it had found human remains inside a 4.3-metre-long crocodile removed from the Mowbray River. Police believe they are the remains of 79-year-old Anne Cameron.

Cameron, who suffered from dementia, went missing last week after going on an afternoon walk away from her aged care home.

Human remains and her clothes were found by the bank of Craiglie Creek.

Cameron's son, Craig, said in a social media post that he and his family did not want crocodiles killed in retaliation to his mother's death.

"The crocodiles (which were not believed to have killed mum), are not responsible for being crocodiles, and doing what crocodiles do," he said.

The ABC reported that the crocodile was killed by wildlife officers at 1am on Tuesday.
