A Body Has Been Found By Police In The Back Of A Ute In Queensland

Queensland police are currently looking for a silver Holden Commodore.

Queensland Police is investigating after the discovery of a deceased person in a black ute in Stapylton on the Gold Coast on Wednesday afternoon. The incident is being considered a homicide.

Police visited a property in Buccan, Queensland, at around 1.30pm on Wednesday in relation to a missing person. When they arrived, the occupant of the property left in a black ute.

The vehicle was tracked and located, and upon further investigation police found a deceased person.

Detective acting superintendent Mark White told reporters on Wednesday evening that the man who fled in the black ute was the main suspect in the murder investigation, but that others may be involved. "It's hard to say whether we're looking at one person, or more persons," he said.

On Thursday police identified 34-year-old Zlatko Sikorsky as someone who may be able to assist with the investigation.

"We believe he is between the Logan and the Gold Coast areas," detective inspector Scott Furlong said in a press conference on Thursday.

"We have information that he has access to firearms."

Police would not speculate on the identity of the deceased.

Sikorsky is believed to be travelling in a silver Holden Commodore, registration 966WKB. Police say anyone with information should not approach the man, but alert authorities by phoning 000 immediately.
